Alexander Curio was a true eccentric. A legendary explorer who left no stone unturned in his search for gems and gimcracks. At first glance, Curio looks like the home of an explorer whose passion for chasing treasures has taken him from the Thames to Timbuktu. But the clue lies in the name. Secrets lie within her seemingly innocent walls and trinkets hold the key to untold riches. Fortune favours the brave but riches come at a price. Who is the man behind the enigma? Was his death the result of some cruel, cosmic irony? And does he really want to share the treasures hidden away within the labyrinth he calls home? This is no ordinary home. This is an amazing room, one of our top 10 favourites and we’ve done a fair few. We loved everything about it, the design is totally unique and still has us wondering, in awe, about some of it. Make sure to listen carefully at the briefing as this helps gameplay where some may have struggled but we just found the whole experience superb. It all made sense and many parts are really really clever. Loved every minute of this room and would say is a must play for anyone that has done over, say, 10 rooms. This venue has a dedicated host throughout your game so you are never overlooked and we found ours perfect, not over feeding even if we took a while which made our escape all the more satisfying.

A very well themed room, found the difficulty to be off the charts and the puzzles didn’t really flow. Additionally one puzzle in particular was definitely made with at least 4 players in mind as for 2 players it was a big time waster. We got 2 hints in the full hour despite asking for more and asking for a hint to be repeated we were ignored both times. Our host just felt “off” with us from the start, and felt like they were not paying attention to us in the room! I’d like to finish off by saying that we did two rooms across two days here and our experience in the other room immaterium was much better.

Some very cool puzzles, however they did not flow and there was a lack of signposting. I think this mainly is what makes the room difficult.

This is one of very few rooms which left me thinking “excussse what?!!” in a great way! Some proper wow moments. Good mix of puzzles. Was sad not to escape!

The best escape room we’ve done to date! So unique and spent most the afternoon afterwards talking about it. As a 2 there’s a lot to do but different games and puzzles we’d never seen before. So close to getting out, gutted!!

Such a unique room! It was a little tricky but nothing too difficult if you’ve had escape room experience. Definitely not one to miss! We managed nicely as a team of 3, some very interesting puzzles and a satisfying flow throughout!
