In the year 1540, Spanish conquistador Francisco Coronado gathered his men and began his quest for the mythical SEVEN cities of gold. Upon discovering an untapped mine in the mountains of Arizona they began mining gold, but soon after the men started to die. Their demise was unexplained. Some of them were decapitated, disemboweled and burned alive. Coronado and his remaining men left quickly, empty handed with only tales of death by spirits. 300 years later in the mid 1800’s, a group of Mexican miners named the Peralta family discovered the same mine and began extracting hundreds of pounds of gold only to meet the same fate as Coronado’s men. Nearly the entire Peralta family was massacred with the exception of a few who vowed to return later to collect their spoils. They created a stone map and hid its whereabouts from everyone so that they could one day use it to find the Mysterious Mine once again. Superstition has it that the Apache tribe were responsible for the carnage. Anyone who desecrates the mine will feel the wrath of the spirit of the mine held sacred by the Apache tribe. Two decades later, a German miner named Jacob Waltz (nicknamed The Lost Dutchman) accidentally finds the Peralta Stone Map and navigates to the same mine. Legend has it that Jacob killed several men just to keep his mine a secret. Your goal is to continue where Jacob Waltz left off in search of the coveted “MotherLode” and escape unscathed.

Prepare to get dirty! And be amazing! This is the most authentic and well made Mine like game I’ve ever played. The set design was amazing and the puzzles were fun.

Talk about an immersive room! The set design is amazing and the story was really cool. Prepare to get dusty so make sure you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!

Incredibly immersive and more difficult than we were expecting! Some cool special effects as well. Pretty good puzzles, nothing groundbreaking but executed very well for the theme. We were the last room of the night and didn’t finish in time but they gave us a few more minutes to finish which we greatly appreciated. Definitely recommend The Sanctuary, if you need an excuse to go to OK City, is it!

From the moment you enter The Dutchman's Mine, the set feels realistic because of the good use of rock throughout the game. There is something to be said for feel stones crumble beneath your feet to make the experience feel even more lifelike. My main advice, and this I is true of all escape room games so this is more of a reminder, would be to make your choices with some thought first as actions have consequences. Really fun game.

Beautiful set, fun game play, and elements of teamwork. Our experienced group of four didn't have much time remaining. The owners and staff are fabulous too. Check this room out, and dress for getting dirty!

Generally liked the game a lot. The room was quite immersive and it had a few really cool effects. One puzzle really stumped my group and the nudge/ clue given wasn’t really helpful for a while. Communication was also lacking from the game master as two puzzles had been solved but was unclear to us, and one of those wasn’t even mentioned until after the game. We had two clue requests go unanswered, which was surprising as we’ve loved this location and the other two experiences and rooms we’ve played here. We were thankful to get extra time to play through the last two or three puzzles. Overall an interesting an immersive room that we just had a few moderate issues with.
“Core gameplay revolved around searching, observing, reading and making connections, and puzzling.“
