‘The Hidden Script’ was the second room we played at Faro Escape Games during our short trip to the city. Whilst we felt our performance as a team was much better than during ‘The Cabin’, there were some frustrating areas that could be improved: - One of the puzzles hadn’t been reset properly, which impacted the game flow. I get that this happens occasionally so we were forgiving of it, but it did impact our experience. - An area that opens up later on in the game is very dark and the main light source is a wind-up torch that makes the experience less than enjoyable. We struggled to see locks and items we could interact with in that space. - The penultimate puzzle was a real letdown, as we’d got the right solution and placed items where they needed to be but a door didn’t open. We were instructed to just unplug something at the wall to bypass this and the door then opened. There is a very simple solution to make this puzzle work, which for some reason hasn’t been implemented. It wasn’t a great experience overall, and the combination of the above made it less enjoyable than it could have been. We did manage to escape however!
