1 escape room
The room has certainly earned its difficulty rating! We previously ran Once Upon A Time, rated 8/10, and found it to be reasonably challenging but fun, with only one puzzle we were truly stuck on in a way that was within our control. Based on that experience, we felt that we would be okay stepping 1 point up to a 9/10 and requesting our own clues, but I would strongly encourage anyone attempting this room to accept GM nudges unless you are a speedrunner, as there was a pretty significant difficulty jump from Once Upon a Time to Neverland. We are not expert players, but have done somewhere between 20 and 40 rooms, and this is only the second we've failed to escape, and it wasn't even close. There are a number of puzzles that were unfortunately more difficult due to maintenance issues (faded lettering, worn magnets) than design, which ate up a lot of time, and those issues can be compounded by accessibility issues with mobility, vision, and fine dexterity. Unfortunately by the time we got halfway through the room and into a section that had a LOT of fun-looking puzzles, we had less than 10 minutes left and couldn't really explore the rest. On the whole I really want to encourage other people to try this room, but ask early and often for hints in the first half. It's our fault we didn't, but please learn from our mistakes!
The room flow is non-linear in the sense that some backtracking is required (and the GM discloses this in briefing, that's not a spoiler), but the actual flow of puzzles was often bottlenecked to a linear critical path which made it difficult to keep everyone engaged, and we only had 3 people.
Good overall theming and set design, especially in the later sections, but the music is a bit too generic fairytale when it could be more uptempo adventure, super minor nitpick
The hint system can be a bit frustrating to operate, but the staff here are great!

Mechanical
Mostly mechanical locks with some electronic/arduino elements that seemed to all function well

A minimum of two players is required for some parts, but the linear nature of the puzzles may leave larger groups with nothing to do.

Some crawling required
There is a short (<6") step to progress further into the room with no alt access. There is a required crawlspace section with no alt access. Mechanical locks were difficult to read in low light and had very small lettering.

I really like the idea of Once Upon an Escape but their puzzle master and I are just not on the same page. I do a bunch of escape rooms and I always seem to struggle with the rooms here. The puzzles are creative but sometimes in a way where it’s just hard to figure out what to do. Neverland was no exception to this rule. We got stuck several times and had to ask for help. The help system is not super responsive and it seems like they aren’t always sure where you’re at in the game because they would suggest to do things that we already completed. We only ended up making it about halfway through this room and that’s unfortunate because the backside looked like it would be fun to mess with! If you’re looking for a solid challenge, check this one out but don’t be surprised if you end up stuck and have a hard time getting help!

A very well laid out room with lots of spaces. Plenty of puzzles and some very difficult puzzles. A few puzzles struggle with the execution of the idea. Overall a good room with a very well done design.
Flow struggles at time. Some unique puzzles and features.
Really enjoyed the design and atmosphere of this. Lots of different spaces.
They were busy and she was running solo.

A couple puzzles were extremely difficult and probably lacked the proper execution of the prompt.

At least one puzzle was a stretch in logic we never would have gotten. Affected the flow a bit. Final puzzle we accidentally solved because the wrong magnet worked on a puzzle it shouldn’t have. Cute decorations and story.

The lobby was absolutely amazing. When they open the door you are immediately let down. It’s suppose to be Neverland themed but nothing looked like it. The puzzles were very confusing. There wasn’t a good flow. The clue system seemed awesome but you would sit and then wait. I don’t believe anyone is watching you so we would have to explain what we already have. Sometimes we waited 5+ mins for a clue. We’ve done lots of rooms and don’t ask for clues. We had to get quite a few here. It was a complete waste of $ in my eyes.

The entire room was not kept up well. All the puzzles were difficult to figure it out because of past players writing on them or just over used.

Wasn’t very bad, but we got stuck to often, even after having done a lot of rooms. Missed a natural flow in the events.
Didn’t like the flow.

We played 2 games here and I liked the other one more. This had some logical leaps that were difficult to bridge. Also some of the pieces were just not made as well as they should have been and therefore the answer wasn’t clear even though we knew exactly what to do with them. Some electronic props did not seem to be working and the GM wasn’t paying much attention to our game bc she would ask what we already had. Things to note: its very dim and they don’t want you using flashlights but we did anyway. Theres crawling with no alt access doors.

There was so much to do when you enter this game. A few puzzles were set out of order in between rooms which is what made this more difficult than their other rooms. One of the final puzzles in the experience i believe should not be in escape rooms given the nature of the game. Also, the GM messages you in personalize messages through a phone throughout the game. At some points we were waiting up to 6 minutes for a hint which extended our time. I love the system they use for hints but the way it was implemented during this game really ruined the flow for us. Leaving us inside feeling ignored. Definitely an expert room, would recommend with at least 3 people.
