Secrets of the Pharaohs

Solidly ok room. I’m not sure if it was meant to be non-linear or if we were just able to guess our way through some puzzles to make it non-linear. Not too difficult of puzzles overall. Apparently we guessed one of them before we had the clue, which caused some confusion when we got the actual clue for that puzzle. Not my favorite room overall, but solidly ok.

Where to begin? We had read good reviews of this location, and decided to play all three of their games. After the first one, we weren't very excited for the next two. Let's start with a big problem for the whole location: sound, and lack of sound proofing. When you're in a room, you can hear the whole conversation of the people in the lobby, and even the story voice over from other rooms. This meant that while trying to solve the room, I also had to try to not listen to what I heard, as it would be spoilers for the other rooms were going to do. (Spoiler alert: We did hear full story sections of rooms we were playing later) Ok, with that out of the way, let's talk about my favorite (sarcasm) way of making a room harder: Make it dark, and give the players very little light. Fun, right? The puzzles were confusing, and we grew more and more frustrated by the whole experience. All in all, I would not recommend visiting this location at all, sadly.

We tried this with only two people, which didn’t work well. We got stuck on one puzzle, so there was too much to do afterward. I suggest doing this with at least four people. But it’s got some fun and interesting puzzles, and it’s impressively designed.

Immersion was excellent, but the puzzles were very confusing. Not intuitive- many times we asked how we were suppose to know how to do what the puzzle required. clues were either not helpful or directly told us what to do. Most puzzles were repeatative in that it was about deciphering symbols. The flow was bad. So beware, fancy sets, but lacked in puzzle and flow. Most of group had done a few rooms, 2 of us have done 40 + and work at escape room out of state, so we were not just lacking in ability.

This company kicks ass when it comes to atmosphere and set design. The puzzles were fun and we got out with plenty of time to spare. I read some reviews complaining about the puzzles not being intuitive - my group didn’t have that issue. This room definitely needs at least four people though. We had a blast.

I'll admit I'm a little over doing Egyptian themed escape rooms, but I throughly enjoyed the room so much! The puzzles may have not been terribly difficult, but they were so fun to do! The room is a bit smaller than expected, so we could have done the room with 4 people, tops. I appreciate so much that they did not use darkness as a way to make the room hard as well.

This is hands down my favorite escape company so far. All of their rooms are incredibly immersive and their plot event extends between rooms. Just a really great company. This room made you feel like you were trapped inside a temple and had some great voice technology elements.

I loved this room. Every puzzle was easy to understand except for one that needed multiple hints to get us going. The set design is the standout here, as it is fully immersive and really well executed.

I am of the belief that there is too many Egyptian tomb themed escape rooms. However, time emporium does it right. Really fun room mixed with technology in a way that makes it extremely satisfying to move forward. I always love Time Emporium rooms- highly recommended
