I wish Morty had another option for their rating scale. I didn’t dislike it enough to give it a thumbs down, but I don’t think a thumbs up really captures it either. I would give this room a “aaaahhh” or a so/so. There were a lot of cool mechanical aspects to this room, the set was great, and I liked the teamwork that the room encouraged. But at the same time, there were a lot of repetitive lines of logic, there were times when one side of the room just stood there because they had to wait for the other team to finish a puzzle, a team member of ours was hurt by a poorly designed puzzle (the gm never asked if he was okay so I’m not sure if they were even paying attention when that happened), and a lot of the puzzles had logic leaps. I really feel this room could have flowed way better if you meet up with the other team earlier. I also think the room would have been shorter if that was the case. Still one of the better rooms at this location.

Great game, and the only two hour room that I found. Great for a group. Teams are split in two.

Long split start. Heavily puzzle focused. Other room had a lot of waiting around

Our first two hour game. Split to start and we were apart most of the game. A questionable caution from the game master, told not to pull on something when actually, that’s exactly what we had to do. Otherwise this a great game to attempt and deserving of its award winning titles.

One of the more interesting “split the team” rooms that I have seen. They are fully committed to the bit: you will stay separated for the vast majority of the game, and virtually all of the puzzles require communication and collaboration. I enjoyed this but it is definitely something to be aware of. I felt that some of the puzzles were a bit underclued in terms of knowing you were on the right track, whereas others had clear feedback. But there is generally only one thing that the group can make progress on at a time and it does a nice job of shifting the focus back and forth between the two teams. The finale puzzle is impressively elaborate. Recommended.

The game was fine. A lot of finding a key that opened a box that contained another key. A lot of waiting for other side to do things. Game master was rude and snarky to me on my birthday and made me feel dumb when I was simply just trying to figure something out myself. I just have bad vibes from this company

There’s too much to do that relies on your partners from the other room, which is fine, except visibility and auditory makes it incredibly difficult to actually communicate. And, there isn’t a lot to do in each room. The split room experience in this room just didn’t do it well. I wanted to like this one so badly too because of how much time you had, but it was just difficult without reason (clues weren’t hard, but they didn’t connect correctly).

Cool idea to split up the group, but ended up feeling unsatisfying to me as an experience. Would have enjoyed more escape time together. Overall, it somehow feels on both sides like you're spending a lot of time sitting around and waiting. Still fun, though, especially because you get so much bang for your buck. Well designed overall, too, I think.
