48 escape rooms
Jinkies! This was a nostalgic room for a Boomer, like me! My group of three escaped (kind of... the GM added time to the clock at the end to allow us to finish - we reeeeealy appreciate that) with two clues. This was my 32nd room (27W - 5L), so I still consider myself a bit of a newbie. The room was beautifully decorated in theme and all of the puzzles and props were in working order. This was our first room at Escapology but we have reservations to attempt six more this week.
The Scooby-Doo themed room was such a fun throw-back especially since they incorporated so many of the show's characters and props into the story. The story flowed very well and we had a ton of fun.
The experience, room, and props were very immersive. Everything was in working condition and true to the show.
The front desk staff are amazing. We reeeealy appreciated that they added a little time to the clock at the end to allow us to finish (our smartest player had to leave suddenly). I am looking forward to playing more games with Escapology Carlsbad!
Yes
I love the Scooby-Doo theme. Everything in the room was a nostalgic throw-back.
The plot was just like the old TV episodes. They even incorporated the old villains and minor characters. It was great!
Medium
I would say this is on the hard side of medium. However, this was our first room in awhile so our brains were rusty and we lost our smartest player mid-game. I think they offer a kid's version of the game, but we played the regular level. I think we needed two hints plus extra-time - lol. This was my 32nd game (27W - 5L) and I played with a group of three adults with similar stats.
High tech
I think the room is a mixture of high-tech and mechanical (locks & keys) but leaning a little more towards tech.

This was my 32nd game (27W - 5L) and I played with a group of three adults with similar stats. We needed two hints and extra time, but that might be because our smartest player had to leave the game suddenly (unrelated to the game). Three players felt ideal for our experience level.
Not scary
This is definitely family-friendly.
8
A kid's version of the game is available, but I think an 8 year old would enjoy the adult version if playing with adults.
No
Everything was in working condition.
No
No live actors, thank goodness!
Somewhat
There is lots of hurrying around the room but nothing overly exhausting.
The room is probably large enough for a wheelchair, but there are color, visual, and auditory elements.
Yes
It is in a mall, right off I-78
Easy
It is in a mall.
21 escape rooms
A good mix of physical and magnetic locks but it’s easy to miss one that opens. Probably ideal for 2-3 people.
28 escape rooms
A bit more linear than I expected but overall a fun theme for sure.
