I really appreciate rooms with great set design and I’d say this room was done pretty well. The room is best for 2-4 players in my opinion, just so it’s not crowded and everyone has something to do.

This is a solid room. It has a great set, including audio, lighting, and a certain parrot that plays the part of your host and cheerleader. I enjoyed the puzzles and there was one that was a great team puzzle that I have never seen before. It was easy to know what to do and yet not super easy to accomplish it. They crammed a lot into what is a fairly small space. The flow was good and everything made sense. I would recommend a group of 3 or 4 for this room.
Great puzzles and glue.
Charming set with nice audio and lighting.

Great interaction with the GM to start the room and get the set the scene.

There are a couple of subtle clues that if you see make the puzzles straightforward, but if you miss could lead to frustration.
A good mix

There is a change in flooring height between two rooms and one of the rooms is especially tight.

Jewel of the sea is a great pirate room, it absolutely makes the most of its fairly small space, featuring some really creative puzzles, some tough ones, and some humor. The set is beautiful, and the theatrics of the room were wonderful as well. This is definitely Intrepid’s best game, and is definitely one of the best games around SoCal

Loved this room! The puzzles flowed really well and it was a very well done and thought out room! There were lots of cool special effects and the staff was great! Highly recommend!

I’ve done over 50 escape rooms and was so excited for this room after hearing about how everyone has seemed to love it and that it’s award-winning. We enjoyed Intrepid’s mobile escape room at escape room day pop-up booth as well. For this game, I went with an experienced group of three and we needed several hints. It definitely got to the point of frustrating that we couldn’t figure anything out. The atmosphere was really well done and the props were beautiful. We also had a good game master. We were unfortunately disappointed. We felt that the game didn’t flow, the puzzles we were able to start but didn’t make sense to finish, and some of the tech did not work. For something that had so many overwhelming positive reviews, I am surprised that it isn’t for everyone. We are looking forward to other escape rooms that they have that we have not completed yet.

We really enjoyed this one. Very unique puzzles and not just locks. We had a group of 3 and did need several hints. We almost ran out of time otherwise because there was one puzzle in particular that was hard to complete. That puzzle isn’t really about figuring it out and more about physical teamwork and that was a little frustrating. Char our GM was fantastic. She’s so invested and excited about what they do. So appreciated.
Char our game master was AMAZING. Super friendly, super into it and just great.

Really fun room with some delightful puzzles and effects. Well-themed, great props, and very immersive despite the smaller space. All the tech worked. We very much enjoyed the variety of puzzle types and loved that several were multi-layered. We did it as a group of 3 (2 enthusiasts and 1 newbie), we used no hints, and we got out with about 10 minutes remaining. Shoutout also to our game master Amelia for really getting into character and being super sweet and high energy!

This was a great game that took a fairly common escape room theme of pirates and took it to the next level. The theming was spot on, and it had some very unique puzzles I have never seen elsewhere. There was one effect in particular that blew me away (you'll know it when you see it!) Our game master Dani did an exceptional job and really got in the act during the intro. Only issue was the room was a bit tight for our group of 5; think 3 or 4 would be perfect for it.
Flowed well, and puzzles made sense, given the theme.
Set well designed, really creative effects, and really enjoyed the unique game master interaction; really added a fun touch.
Dani was a lot of fun, particularly during the introduction in the waiting room. Always nice to see GMs who clearly enjoy their jobs!

There were a couple of puzzles that were very well designed to hide in the theme, and a couple I have never seen before; all were al lot of fun. And I still can't get over how cool one effect in particular was--really caught us by surprise.
