Runaway Train

My wife and I started our escape experience at Breakout games and had heard this was one of the favorites of workers, so we could not wait to play this room! It was a lot of fun and we were able to escape in plenty of time. I will agree with other reviews that another room would have been great to continue the game play and experience.

This room was a lot of fun! There were quite a few math puzzles in this room (which I enjoyed) and the puzzles flowed well. This game would have been more exciting with multiple rooms though.

Fun room and atmosphere was cool. Liked the puzzle variety.

Walking into this room, you are immediately transported to a cabin inside a train, with "windows" seeing out to the world flying by to the front and both sides of the train. This escape room summoned a truly immersive amount of detail, but some challenges we lucked through and others would be hardly possible without a hint. Overall, however, it was a wonderful experience.

This room has many flaws that i've seen in other Breakout rooms. There was one puzzle that the GM said he has needed to give a hint on every time but once. There was a lot of math in 2 puzzles. There was one puzzle involving wires that could have been connected in many different ways. The room was entirely linear. Not even clues in one place that you'd have to wait to use later (let alone work on multiple at once). These detracted from an otherwise decent, if straightforward, room.

I swear I don't give a negative review to a game just because we don't make it out. The premise was good: there's a bomb on a runaway train. The set design was quite good! The issue was that regardless of how well you are doing in the game & how much time you have, when you get to the final part: you "accidentally" cause the timer on the bomb to begin the final countdown & you only have a few minutes to beat the final part. Which we didn't. And it really kills the vibe & enjoyability of the game.
