Case '93

The room itself was pretty cool. Loved the 90s theme and old school VHS tapes. However, it was just a friend and I so we got stuck about three times. I have visited several 60out locations in the past two months (I’ve been on an escape room kick). The GM that we had was the worst I’ve experienced. There was one point where we were waving our hands for several minutes even moving to different room and cameras but she was missing. She finally came on and did not answer a question I had asked and instead told us what to do so not really a hint. We tried to roll with it but we needed her help for a third time and so much time had passed and she was missing again. After about three mins of waiting and knowing we only had like 3-5 minutes left I just pressed the manual escape and left the room. She was in the staff room but obviously not watching the screens. She kept apologizing but the room was ruined and she offered us more time but that wasn’t the point. We could have completed the room on our own if she was doing her job. All the other GMs at the other locations have been awesome and attentive. These rooms aren’t exactly a low cost one hour experience so you’d expect more professionalism and accountability. I would recommend the room but also caution because I would not recommend that GM.

7.8/10 A solid escape room from 60Out Silverlake. The perfect blend of comedy and creepy, an excellent mix of puzzles but nothing that will ever make you think too hard, Great story telling and a BIG WONDERFUL THANK YOU for pausing time during story cutscenes. One simple problem is some of the props are old and beaten up. Making a particular puzzle incredibly difficult with just two players. These are simple fixes which leave me baffled that they continue to run the experience with their props in these conditions. A simple run to a hardware store and a half hour could easily solve this issue. Besides that, a fun experience that I recommend for teams of 3 to 4. 2 players only will be tough simply because of the one puzzle I had previously stated. Other than that, it’s definitely worth the time.

I don’t always watch the employee training video, but when I do, I learn important facts and details that lead me to discover clues pertaining to a particular mystery about local kidnappings and murders. And then I deduce that the murderer is [REDACTED]!

This room had some funny elements to it! We passed with no clues and one team member who had only played a few before. Great beginner experience!

I played Cartel many years ago and it was nice to see the space repurposed for a new game, but done it way that it still felt new and exciting to me. This room uses comedy in a way I haven’t often seen and a lot of the humor lands, which is rare in escape rooms. The puzzles are a good level of difficulty, though a bit on the easier side. My group had a lot of fun. I hope the owners can take a look at their speaker system because for the second half of the game, all of the speakers were incredibly hard to hear and at one point, we were in an enclosed space, and the speaker was very quiet and outside of the enclosed space. It was almost impossible to hear.

I rate this escape experience a 4/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). This room was awesomely rad! From the 1990s shoutouts to the rare serial killer with a great sense of humor, it was so enjoyable. I gave the set/theme 1.5 points. There was a lot of substance in the many areas of the game. I find serial killer rooms to have a common set - blood on the walls, body parts scattered about - but this one, even though it had all that as well, added so much more with the addition of the occasional audio and video commentary. This elevated the set/theme category as well as my enjoyment to 1.5 pts. Puzzles were average so 1 point here but it really isn't about the puzzles in this room. It's about the guy behind the mask who steals the show and makes this room so gnarly, dude!

As a fan of 90s horror I loved this room! It was the first escape room I've ever played and it exceeded my expectations.

A great rework of Cartel (which REALLY needed a rework). Bravo to the staff and ownership to listening to feedback and reworking that room! Having done both, they turned a mediocre room (Cartel) into a great experience by reworking it.
