Escape The Colosseum: The Underworld Maze Escape Room

A lot to love and a lot of frustrations in this set of rooms. Like others have said, it is 4 rooms with a total of 2hrs. Each one times out at 30 minutes and you cannot roll over unused time from previous rooms. This is a huge missed opportunity as one of the middle rooms is significantly harder than the rest. Groups could really benefit from a time buffer here if they flew through earlier rooms. The theming and variety of puzzles were really fun and very unique. However, there were multiple elements broken in each room so frequently we would solve something and then be unable to progress because the prop mechanics didn't respond appropriately. Even more frustratingly, some of the props were so broken that they were literally falling onto me/my partner. I've never left an escape room bruised before! The use of in-character audio clues was helpful but also made me wonder if they were added because the puzzles didn't have enough clear signposting on their own. Overall, I think this room needs serious TLC to fix all the glitchy components.

Raquel was a great game master. Some of the things didn’t open even though we did it right so that was a bit frustrating thematically but she did a great job of helping us. I loved that this room was longer than others we have done and had some mechanisms that we haven’t experienced yet in our escape room travels! We got out with 20 minutes left and were able to finish each room before the 30 minute mark. I see some people seeing they couldn’t but it’s possible!

This was so much fun! We only ran out of time in one of the 4 rooms but we were so close! The game master and David were awesome! Really enjoyed their energy. We had a not so great experience at this location one other time but this time totally redeemed itself!

We liked the room but the pacing was less to be desired. If they changed it to having the full 2 hours and not 4 rooms split up into 30 minute intervals I would have liked this room much more. Also, give less unprompted hints please :-)

4 rooms that are all well connected by the common theme, but provide different environments with each room change. Good puzzles

Drove over an hour for this 2 hour room just to be told the first entrance to the second room was broken. Multiple things in the rooms broken. The exit door was stuck and wouldn’t open when we finished the last room. Poor experience.

Had a crawling space and was one of the more interactive and engaging atmospheres I’ve been too. 4 rooms and 2 hours provided
