You've earned a second chance at freedom, but it's slim. About 3 months ago, Edward hired a man named John Peterson to help him make some "engineering changes" to an elevator shaft on his property. John quickly figured out that these changes he was being asked to make were indeed sinister in nature. When he confronted Edward, he was told that he could not leave until the project was finished or else his wife and daughter would pay the price. The project is complete and John is long dead. You've found yourself locked inside the elevator shaft. Will you and your friends be able to follow the steps John put in place for you? Or will you perish under the weight of a 6 ton steel elevator? This is the most technically advanced room The Basement has to offer. The Elevator Shaft delivers a level of realism and intensity that is unmatched in the world of Escape Rooms today.

The Elevator Shaft Room at the Basement wasn't my favorite escape room experience. It's more contained compared to other rooms, as it doesn't offer the thrill of unlocking multiple rooms. There is one cool part, but overall, it didn't meet my expectations. However, some people might enjoy the single-room focus. It just wasn’t for me.

Great tech but not accessible for larger people. If I gained 30-40 lbs I might not have fit in part of this one.

The staff here are amazing! The manager in the front with the southern accent was our favorite. There was a puzzle in this room that was just not clicking for our party. When we asked about it at the end after not escaping, apparently “every group that day failed on that puzzle” So… take it out or change it? Lol Otherwise this company did a great job

Played with one other person. While the ambience was great, it was also disgusting. You get damp/wet in a gross smelling water so I would not recommend doing this room in nice clothes or without the ability to shower soon after. We also got frustrated because there were a few technical errors that made solving everything confusing. While the elevator pulley was interesting, it was definitely not my favorite escape room from The Basement

This was our first visit at this escape room company. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we didn’t escape. We were on the last puzzle so just needed 3-5 more minutes.

All the chapters were so much fun, so scary, so stimulating, and so realistic.

Claustrophobia alert! Make sure you have someone in your group willing to take one for the team. Very unique and flowed well. Good luck

Absolutely thrilling. Been on a high ever since going to this one, due to how uniquely designed and atmospheric it is. I wish some of the big stingers weren’t alluded to at the start, but it’s clear they’ve had some rule-breakers, so I get why they made it clear. Absolutely a must do.

I wouldn't recommend this room for individuals who are claustrophobic or have a fear of elevators. As someone who is easily frightened and dislikes anything horror-themed, I found it to be not scary at all. However, I did appreciate the set design, special effects, and immersive experience. One drawback was the difficulty hearing our GM and each other due to the loud environment. Additionally, the dim lighting made it hard to read. Overall, I recommend this escape room for groups of 3 or 4 people. It might be more time-consuming with only 2 people.
“It's a very fun set - you really are in that dark, gloomy, damp place.“
“Go get kidnapped and be tortured by Edward Tandy. You won't regret it.“
“The Elevator Shaft was intense and smart. It contained a ton of cool moments.“
