The Reel has the best movie theater popcorn that money can buy. Radically buttery, salty, and crunchy – no other concession stand can compete. Literally! You are the disgruntled owners of a rival theater in town, and the only hope of saving your business relies on a heist most triumphant! Luckily, The Reel’s bogus manager brags about his "secret recipe" to anyone who will listen. More than once, he has let slip that the key to ultimate popped perfection is locked up somewhere on the premises. You can only hope to have enough time to find and snag the secret recipe for your own devilish snack-selling plans!

It was a fun, well-done room but pretty easy. We completed it in only 35 minutes with just my son and I. It's a good room for beginners. Pretty linear.

This was a good room. It’s the one I’d most recommend here but all of them are good. There were some puzzles that were challenging to the point where I was getting frustrated. But once I knew the solution, I’d realize that the puzzle was just smarter than me. Other parts of The Reel were really fun to solve without being too easy. I remember one element involving math that was tough once our brains were fried.
I really enjoyed the progression of this one. Just the right level of challenge.
It was well made but I wouldn’t call it immersive. However this is the best set design at Puzzle Effect SLO. Really good stuff.
Everyone at puzzle effect has always been great.

There were a lot of puzzles that I’ve seen elsewhere, but there were a couple things unique to The Reel.

There were some color elements and an audio element. That’s from memory and I could be wrong about that.

This is a SLO issue. There’s metered parking right out front, but to park for free you have to walk a few blocks.

It was an okay room. It was weird they marketed it as an '80s room online but it was really just a movie theater room. Maybe bc they were trying to compete with the other '80s room in the area? If it wasn't that it was marketed as one thing to me and I got there and it was completely different I probably would have given it a thumbs up. It was fun enough but I think I like their Harry Potter room better. Mostly they're just kind of the corporate escape rooms you get with a chain but they were still entertaining.

We had some malfunctioning in our escape and we didn’t quite make it. Hope they fixed the issues. Over all fun and big rooms

Contrary to other reviews I believe this is the best room at this location. I really thought it was a lot of fun. Me and my husband did this room together and escaped with about 10 minutes left. I loved the decor and puzzles.

My least favorite room at this location. The room seemed a bit plain. One puzzle did not activate correctly which left us hanging for a bit.

Terrible. Puzzles are totally non-intuitive and the story is pretty lame. Other rooms at this location are much better.
