Magic UniverseMad LandEscape roomIRLWow. Like everyone else said, this room is rated #2 for a reason. The set design was amazing. Full buildings and sets that you could actually explore and felt lived in with the actors (who spoke fluent English!). Amazing choreography, perfectly timed lights and music just made the castle come to life. This escape room was the only reason I came to Madrid, and despite it being far out of the city, I would recommend any enthusiast who comes to Spain HAS to do this room. The puzzles were so intertwined with the theme and made you perpetually feel like you were in this magical world. There were so many amazing puzzles I had never even considered possible, and was constantly amazed as the time flew by. I wish I could re-experience this room for the first time wow. The only criticism is the end felt a bit more rushed than I would have liked, but it also was a 2.5 hour room.
K.O.N.G. ProtocolEscape Barcelona 2 3Escape roomIRLGreat room! We played with no jump scares and the environment alone was creepy enough. One note - There is NO lobby area before starting the room. This was something I was not used to, especially for such a long room (and a bit out of the city). I would definitely go to the bathroom beforehand! The room itself was great, the atmosphere was incredible, the puzzles were incredibly thematic and it was fun seeing statistics at the end. The GM did a great job and had a lot of fun with it. We played at 2 and never felt like it was a disadvantage.
La Cerveseria [The Brewery]EnigmikEscape roomIRLIt was a great escape room with a new and interesting theme. They had some interesting usage of tech, but there were a few times where I thought the tech made it more confusing. Buttons didn't seem to light up unless the right person tapped something, and it was unclear who was supposed to do what at times (That was not supposed to be a puzzle lol) but overall great room in a great location near the Sagrada. Worked well for 2 players
Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLWow. Between the set design and the way the puzzles were done, they did a great job at making you feel like a lab rat!
Projet R.E.S.E.T. [Project R.E.S.E.T.]Immersia Escape GamesEscape roomIRLLike others have said, you will either love or hate the main mechanic. It is something I am not normally a fan of but found it fascinating and have never seen an escape room do something like this. I absolutely think everyone should try a unique room like this, even if you come out of it not enjoying it. Keep an open mind, when the mechanic first clicked, I was stressed but then realized there were ways to mitigate it, and some fun things we could try to play around with at the same time to break the mechanic. I had a great time and am curious to see what other rooms they have! I have to give props to the room for trying something potentially controversial and absolutely novel.
L'Île perdue de la Reine Vaudou [The Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen]Escaparium - LavalEscape roomIRLWow. How is this not higher on the top 100 list?! This room was so thematic from the set design, lighting and the way we got clues. I thought the GM did a phenomenal job and the puzzles were quite fun. I would love to do more rooms from the same company.
Magnum OpusCabinet MysteriisEscape roomIRLI hate to give a review like this but I was pretty disappointed in the room. There seemed to be multiple puzzles that were either broken or had incredibly long delays. There is an actor in the room and we could not tell if they were roleplaying with us or actually trying to fix the puzzles (they even got what I think was their manager). I wish they told us upfront if something was broken, rather than trying (and failing) to roleplay it like it was part of the story. We put in the correct solution multiple times and probably lost 5-10 min on a puzzle since it was so severely broken and for some reason they wouldn't bypass it. Then later in the game, there are some moments where the GM/actor is talking to you, and I never understood how we were supposed to interact with them, especially with the confusion from earlier in the game. It felt like they were trying to roleplay but we felt stuck in a weird spot where we were uncertain if this was their way of asking what we needed help with, or if it was supposed to be roleplaying the story. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were flustered from the broken puzzles or possibly because we played in English and maybe it is not their first language. The puzzles themselves were interesting when they worked, I was just pretty disappointed with the awkward roleplaying that seemed unnecessarily distracting from the horrors we were experiencing and also the broken puzzles.
Smugglers DenEscape My RoomEscape roomIRLI had been curious to try a pitch black room and it was really interesting. The story didn't feel very cohesive but I enjoyed the concept and having different kinds of tactile puzzles. Definitely don't do this room with people you aren't close to since you may be bumping into them quite a bit!
