The past couple years of HHN has seen the Universal Monsters pitted against (each or at least team up) in a Haunted House. This year is the Invisible Man, Hunchback of Note Dame, Phantom of the Opera, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’s turn to shine. As you wander the Parisian catacombs, the monsters take turns hunting you down and scaring you silly. While it may be one of the less intense offerings at HHN, the Universal Monsters House is always a must!

The Children's Museum

Each year the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis puts on a Haunted House as a fundraiser for the non profit. The theme changes annually and each one is more creative than the last! While the house may be a bit too mild for some hard core haunt fans, it’s a great way to introduce younger fans to haunted houses.

Leu Gardens

If you are looking for a spooky date night or family outing then I highly recommend Leu Gardens. The Gardens are beautifully lit and sectioned off into various Halloween themes. While fairly mild, the event does conjure up the occasional jump scare. Walking the entire garden takes roughly 45 mins to an hour.

Headless Horseman Festival

The Headless Horseman festival at Conner Prairie has been a Halloween staple in Indiana for decades. I remember going as a kid and now take my daughter every year. As the event has grown in popularity, the hayride has expanded to offer additional scares here and there. The entire event is more spooky than scary and made for the whole family. A couple notes: 1. Avoid the front box of the hayride if possible as you'll miss the majority the scares. 2. The puppet show is the best part of the whole event. Don't miss it, it's hilarious!

I’m a Chucky fan, so I’m a bit biased. That being said, theme of the house is that HHN has given Chucky a haunted house that is not up to his standards. Our favorite killer doll (Aside from M3GAN) takes it upon himself to help make it a gore-fest. If you aren’t a Chucky fan, I’d say it’s worth a skip, but if you’re into the campy horror / dark comedy of the show, you’ll enjoy it.
