Holy sh*t, what a SET!! And such richness! 🚪 In terms of set: Diagon Alley meets Jules Verne, meets Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in a spectacular way. I’m still baffled by it. There’s some serious talent behind this production. 📜 The story is fun, larger than life, intense, and some details definitely escaped us. 🕹️ The gameplay is a delight. It’s all classic escape room gameplay but hugely varied, and often the interactions align well with the story, which is one of the hardest things in escape game design. 👻 For scaredy cats like us: this experience has about 6 moments of jump scares. The mad scientist in the story really is quite frightening. My partner, with no experience in scary escape rooms, took a while for her heart rate and adrenaline to recover. 👨🏻‍🔬 Alex was a fantastic host: talented and attentive. Seeing him after the game added a nice extra dimension to already fantastic experience. It also calmed my partner to see such a sweet person after the adrenaline fueled game. 🇬🇧 The game is fully translated into English, which we appreciated a lot. Note: the hints are given through a voice modulater, which we found very hard to understand much of the time. We would simply ask to repeat the hint until we understood it. 👐 I think the ideal team size for this game would be 3 or 4. We found it’s a very good experience for 2 players, but naturally you’ll feel a bit overwhelmed from time to time, as this is a VERY rich game. 🌁 Special note to escape room fans from San Francisco: I would say this is the modern successor to The Edison Room, in terms of muchness and variety of gameplay. If you liked that, you’ll love this. 🚕 We took a €25 Uber there from central BCN, but traffic had us delayed by 15 mins, which added some stress because it was just the 2 of us and like I keep saying, this game is RICH. We took the train back from the nearest station, which was a 23 minute walk away. Next time, we’ll take the train both ways ;) 🎥 An extra note of apprecation to the maker: I noticed and LOVED that you had decorated the camera’s in style with the rest of the room. It’s a touch almost no other escape rooms do, and I really appreciated it! This game will absolutely go on my must-play recommendation list for Barcelona. What a joy, what a RIDE! This is a full-blown adventure with twists and turns and twists upon twists :) It's full of joy, suprise and magic. There's also a chapter dedicated to horror movies, and it is SCARY! However, if you're not into scary, you can book the Lite version, which is a bit lighter (and even gives a discount for it, how about that!). The creator, Anthony is a wonderful guy, infusing his creation with so much care and attention to detail. He's also a joy to talk to afterwards, and he even created a beautiful little bar for exactly that purpose! As a film lover, this is a feast of recognition, with more references to classics than you can count (classics from between the 1950's and 2000's). As an escape room maker, it's ALSO a feast of recognition in the best possible sense: the creator, Anthony has included tributes to his favorite escape rooms, including our game The Alchemist in a very honorable way. We felt humbled and proud. In terms of puzzles, it's not brainy. It's a treasure trove of challenges, but all of them relatively straightforward. You're not in your head in this game. I know some people want to puzzle, but I would recommend them to play this game for something else: adventure, playfulness, and movie magic.
