Boda Borg Boston Quests
Boda Borg - Boston
Escape room
Other
I get the appeal for kids and teenagers, but for us, Boda Borg was like the worst parts of escape rooms - incredibly high ratio of process to a-ha moment, with the added frustration of having to wait in line to try again. Being there Saturday afternoon also meant that the screaming, squealing and banging on doors by the approximately billion young’uns there seriously intervened with the audio puzzles. For adult questers, it’s likely best to go during the week and definitely do the four hours - otherwise standing in lines is the quest you’ll spend the most time doing.
Clue - A Walking Mystery [Outdoor]
CLUE: A Walking Mystery - Boston

More of a “walking mystery” than escape room, but several of the nine locations visited during the walking experience did feature escape room style puzzles (on the easier side for family friendliness.) The mystery itself was well designed with red herrings and subplots, and needed the information from all the artifacts to solve correctly. At our Saturday afternoon time slot we had to wait a while at several locations and at the end to get our turn with the solves and the solution verification, so it’s likely better to start early or late in the day to avoid crowds.
Escape The City - Boston: The North End [Outdoor]
Escapely - Boston

We did this with a group of 4-6 escape room/puzzle hunt enthusiasts, and found it a really lovely way to spend a sunny Fall Sunday exploring the North End. There was enough to do for four enthusiasts with the rest taking turns carrying the box and navigating the website. Most of the puzzles (except one at the very end) felt connected to the environment and made us look around, which is always a plus. I would definitely consider doing these in other cities I’m not familiar with, but am spending more than a day in.
