The Shadow of the RelicEscape Room BrightonEscape roomIRLDisappointing and anticlimactic. Multiple puzzles didn’t work, and we had to have our GM come in and manually open something at one point. Certain puzzles are finicky, like the last one which was a letdown. Add on the “not intro video” or lore to the room and it just feels like some rooms with some puzzles. And too few puzzles, which were all linear, making our group of 5 stall out with 1-2 people working on each puzzle at a time. Most of us left feeling like we didn’t solve much, and some puzzles we didn’t even know if/how we solved them, we just found a drawer open 5 minutes later. There’s a lot of potential for the room to be great, but it’ll need some TLC, more puzzles, and a better intro with lore.
SpymakerSpymaker Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLUnfortunately I think this place was a waste of money. The first room was average for the rooms I’ve done, and I had a good time. The room is marketed as more difficult than most escape rooms, so we were expecting a challenge. But we weren’t expecting things to not work or take exceedingly long. There is a point in the room where you need to decode a message, and the method of decoding broke. We spent around 15 minutes trying our hardest to piece the message together, and had to have our game paused so staff could come in and look at the room. It just ruined the experience. Staff were super nice and accommodating, but our hearts just weren’t in the room after that. When linear rooms have something broken, it messes the entire experience up. And then we had another piece of the game where we had the right “code,” put it in, and it didn’t work…so we wasted another clue for them to tell us we were right, just keep trying and we would get it eventually. Just left a bad taste in our mouths. Aside from that, when we were still in the room, someone came into the room to “reset” the room. Love it when you pay to be immersed in a realistic room for someone to burst in breaking the 4th wall.
Medusa's RevengeEscape Room ZoneEscape roomIRLThe room has a lot of potential, but it doesn’t live up to the reviews. Having done a few at the Canton location, the GMs don’t seem to pay attention, and are not very helpful with clues. We asked for a clue for something over the walkie talkie and couldn’t hear them, then he gave us clues for us on things out of order. Several of the mechanisms didn’t quite work, and required more effort on our part to make it work, with us wasting around 10 minutes on something that should have just fit into place. And some pieces to the puzzles didn’t end up getting put back where they belonged, so we had to find a random puzzle piece just laying around the room…I almost wish this room was at a different location so staff took care of it and us better.
Candy Factory ChallengeEscape Room NoviEscape roomIRLNot my favorite room, but the group I was with seemed to really like the room. This is a bit more of a modern room, with more gen 2 and 3 puzzles, and a few lock and key.
Starship: Final VoyageFive Senses Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA fantastic room. It scales in difficulty, and the records are based on the group and broken down on each puzzle. The room itself was well done, and the GM/owner clearly has a passion for escape rooms and seems to be well versed in all levels of experience (the novice to the expert).
Mad ScientistEscape Room ZoneEscape roomIRLReally liked this room. Did it with a group of three and it was a lot of fun. Themed in the vein of “Frankenstein” and done pretty well, with some unique parts to the room and some interesting electronic puzzles.
The Circus:3DEscape Room ZoneEscape roomIRLDid it with 3 people, and one of us was a novice (2nd time doing an escape room). We all loved it! Good amount of challenge, and something for all of us to do. Parts of the room were very engaging, and there never seemed to be a lull in the pace of the room.

Bank HeistEscape Room-Zone ChesterfieldEscape roomIRLNot my favorite, but also not the worst room I’ve been to. Something of an “in between.” The GM Evan (who I’ve had every time I’ve been here) was great as always. Room is something of a mix of lock and key and magnetic locks. One of my critiques of the room is that one set of the lock and key sets of confusing…the GM warned us and we still had trouble with it.
Professor Bleehall's Odditorium Emporium & Pie ShoppeEscape Room NoviEscape roomIRLIt plays like an escape room, but it’s more of a “play until the time runs out.” Without spoilers, you have a live GM that host the room kind of like a game show, so having a good GM is really important. Our GM was Chris, and he made the room FANTASTIC. We had a group of 5, and there was never a lag in gameplay. The room was fast pace, fun, and we kept moving the whole time. Overall it was a great room.
