Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLI visited this escape room a few months ago with a group of friends and, unfortunately, found the experience underwhelming. The room design is highly linear, allowing only one puzzle to be solved at a time. While the venue advertises a capacity of up to 12 participants, the format is far better suited for a much smaller group—perhaps 3 to 4 people—given the limited opportunities for simultaneous engagement. Additionally, the game master’s demeanor detracted from the overall experience. She spoke to us as if we were five years old—overly simplistic, patronizing, and unnecessarily controlling. Even before we entered the room, she addressed us in a condescending tone, and throughout the experience, she frequently interjected, accusing us of being “too rough” with props that appeared outdated and fragile. The set/room itself seemed worn and in need of maintenance or updates, almost like it hasn’t been updated since its opening. For $74 per person, it’s just not worth the hassle.
