Permanently Closed - A 30 minute family experience on board the Imperial War Museum’s HMS Belfast. Working closely with IWM historians and ex navy officers, we took players back in time and placed them in command of the Damage Control Base - the nerve centre of the ship during times of crisis. Presented with real-life decisions, situations, techniques and methods of damage control, players experience visceral historic context to the giant artifact that is the ship around them.Shortly after WW2, the HMS Belfast is recruiting new engineers for the ship’s recently refitted Damage Control Base. Starting as a routine training lesson, the ship unexpectedly collides with an uncharted mine, damaging the ship for real! The team must work together to limit the damage and secure the stricken ship before she flounders out in the open sea -- putting out fires, shoring up leaks, containing floods... A fast, fun and physical game for families, with tasks to get the brain whirring, the heart pumping and even work up a sweat. Welcome to The Royal Navy.
