Probably the worst omeventure room but I still had fun. The theme was good but similar to every other temple themed room
28 escape rooms
Probably the worst of the omenventure rooms but it’s still an okay one, seems like on of the oldest rooms and some instructions are unclear but I recommend doing it to say you’ve done all the rooms

I heard that Dark Altar was recently upgraded, so I quickly joined my friends’ team to give it a try. Let me start with the conclusion: for a basic escape room, having six experienced people is too many given the difficulty level and space—we finished 16 minutes early. The plot revolves around thwarting an evil ritual. As I have played 8 rooms at Omventure, the puzzles look familiar to me: find patterns, enter passwords; solve logic puzzles forward and backward, each room contains about 2-3 puzzles. There isn’t much reading involved, not much audio, no videos. There were a few moments where it seemed like a big reveal was coming, but it never did. The game ended with a noise that sounded like a vacuum cleaner, and everyone walked out saying: "That's it?" As for the comparison between the new and old versions, I haven’t played the old version, but according to a recap by our gamemaster, the final room’s setting was upgraded, and a puzzle was added that linked several previous rooms together. The promotional photos on Instagram really caught my eye—they cleverly captured the most exciting parts of the room and gave the illusion that the space was much bigger.

Overall, good puzzles except for the first one, the setting create a foreboading sense of eerines (but not particularly scary) and greate tech use. Staff were helpful and friendly. Id recommend this for intermediate escapers. First time escaperoom players may struggle quiet a bit. Not impossible to beat though!
We managed to complete the escape room. Although, I would say that the puzzles vary in difficulty. Not giving anything away but the first one was extremely diffiuclt. We managed to solved it but we had to call help multiple times. Once youre out of that puzzle, everything else seems fine. I think the diff level is perfectly rated. If youve done a few escape rooms, Id say that this is more a 3/5 diff level. However, if youre a beginner, it's certainly a 4/5 level.
The atmoshphere was great! It was dark in most parts of the game but it worked. It did create a very tense environment because you dont know when will that loud music or banging noise will drop.
Yes
4
I think 4 is perfect. 5 is okay. But if you have more than 5, then Id say some people will not be able to participate in few of the puzzles solving. Some of the rooms were also fairly small for a large group.
Spooky
The room itself is not particulary scary but it does cary an eery vibes to it due to the props and tech available. There were also a few unexpected loud bangs and sounds that made us jump after solving a puzzle. I still wouldnt consider it extremely scary.
