De Schatkamer [The Treasure Room]

While renovating the building on Nederstraat, we came across old diaries and letters from one Jan Willem Stautenhoofdt, an adventurer and treasure collector from the early 18th century . We found out that he was looking for "ancient treasures of mankind". He made explorations to all continents of the world and made several discoveries there. He was planning his final exploration when he suddenly disappeared one night. All he left behind was a piece of wood that he left with his best friend Jacob Roggeveen, but he never understood what to do with the piece of wood… Centuries later, the piece of wood turned up in a shop in Middelburg. It turned out to contain Jan Willen Stautenhoofdt's farewell letter. In it he writes about the treasures of mankind and its treasury. We have since found the location of the treasure room and we have gone inside looking for clues as to where the treasures of humanity are at the moment, but after an hour in the room we got spots before our eyes and we started to get dizzy. We suspect that the room is slowly filling with poison… Hence, we no longer go within ourselves and need help in solving the final mystery: Where are the Treasures of Mankind?
