Amaro Pargo was perhaps the most famous Spanish corsair in history, due to the fact that he operated in the years known as the Golden Age of piracy. He dominated the route between Cádiz and the Caribbean, attacking the enemy powers of the Spanish crown, and achieving a fame similar to that of Francis Drake. Felipe V named him lord of rope and knife. Born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna in 1678, he died in 1747 being buried in the Convent of Santo Domingo de Guzmán in the town, where today his grave can be seen in which a skull winking its right eye is engraved, with two crossbones . In his will he wrote that he owned a chest full of gold and silver jewelry, precious stones and paintings. That is why his house in Machado has been looted for centuries by treasure hunters, without success. In 2013 a team of archaeologists from the Autonomous University of Madrid exhumed his remains to carry out DNA tests and a reconstruction of his face. In that laboratory work they found a fragment of an enigma that told the exact location of the treasure. We were beaten to the punch by a smuggler who deals in anything that brings him money, so we need you to pose as potential buyers and find out what's inside.
