In the late 19th century, during an ill-fated Halloween service, the deranged minister of Crickley Church decided to kill his entire congregation after their confessions had convinced his twisted mind that they had, among themselves, committed the 7 Deadly Sins. In order to punish them for their sins, the evil minister passed around poisoned bread and wine. As the congregation choked on their last breaths, the minister incited a curse on the children playing in the rooms beneath the church, and then buried himself alive in the church’s hidden crypt, determined to haunt the church forevermore. Your Great Grandfather was one of those innocent children. You began to think back on the mysterious deaths of family members and close friends ever since that fateful night. Not wishing to take on such a daunting task alone, you have convinced your bravest friends to race to Crickley with you, break into the abandoned Church and find the hidden crypt. You enter the churchyard at 11 pm and the iron gates immediately slam shut behind you, locking you inside. The minister seems to be playing one last trick on you. Can you complete your mission and escape the church before the clock strikes Midnight? Or will you fulfill the curse and your name be the next on a headstone in your family’s graveyard plot? Find the hidden crypt, find the dagger, and drive it through the heart of the evil minister. Then and only then you will be saved and will destroy the curse forever. Be brave... Stay calm... Work together... But remember... Time is of the essence...

This game was a little challenging in the aspect of the next “to do” not being too obvious. Some puzzles required a little more depth of thought to figure out what we were supposed to do. We had several clues given in this game but didn’t affect the fun of the game.

Overall this game was good! We got stuck throughout the experience because it wasn’t really a linear story nor did the puzzles keep you moving. So it was challenge. Definitely look EVERYWHERE. And use EVERYTHING in this experience. Fell short on story. Wish it actually was about the deadly sins, but storyline is more about how/why the priest murders people and you kinda avenging their souls.

Very well themed room, eerie feel to match the story. The puzzles were just the right level of challenging and flowed well. Some of the effects did not work for us but it did not detract from our experience. The only con would be that you could hear the people in the next room over very loudly. But other than that our group of four had fun and managed to escape.

Solid room! Some of the puzzles were very interesting and clever. The fog was a little annoying, it was semi hard to breathe. The story was cool as well.

Overall a fun and creepy room. Our team of five enjoyed the experience immensely. Definitely one of their better rooms imo.

Great room all around! Definitely one of Escapology's better rooms.

Puzzle Quality: 12/20 Looks/Theme: 10/15 GameMaster Rating: 8/10 Operation Fluidity: 4.5/5 Combined Rating: 34.5/50 Overall Difficulty: 4/10 Quick Notes: - Multiple rooms, small in size. CATEGORIES EXPLAINED IN MORE DETAIL BELOW: Puzzle Quality - How intuitive, logical, and unique the puzzles were. How well do the puzzles fit the theme? Looks/Theme - How much effort, time, and money went into making an immersive and unique atmosphere. GameMaster Rating - How attentive and helpful was the game master? Were the hints given in a timely manner and were they quality hints that helped but did not give you the solution too directly? Operation Fluidity - Was the game reset properly? Was it clean inside the room? Were the code entry and solution methods working properly as intended? Overall Difficulty - This is fairly subjective but is mostly correlated to how many total puzzles and how time consuming they each are compared against the 60 minute time limit that almost all rooms have. Combined Rating - Simply a total tally out of 50 of the four main categories. (Puzzle Quality and Looks/Theme are weighted a little more because they are the most important parts of having a good experience). The higher the number, the better the room! Just remember that a 5/10 or 7.5/15 or a 25/50 combined rating is an AVERAGE rating (for some reason in most people’s heads, a 5/10 is a below average or bad rating). So if a room has a combined rating of above 25, then it is a quality room and a good experience that I would recommend! It has to be a really well done room to score above a 35.

The room was ok.. it was a bit canned and the walls are so thin that you can hear the room next to you clearly. Not a fan

Not bad but nothing earth shattering. The puzzles weren’t really themed to the room theme making the story seem disjointed and several of the puzzles just seemed disconnected. Not eacapology’s best.
