Follow Down Into The Underground... The year is 1888. The infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper is rampaging through the streets of London's Whitechapel. He stalks around in the dark with his knife and murders women in deserted alleys. By now he must have already chosen his next victim... No one knows where he will go next, but there are whispers that a dark figure in a top hat has been seen disappearing into the underworld, just around the corner from Baker Street. A constable from Scotland Yard will pick you up outside the entrance and give you the information you need. You will be the first group of detectives to investigate Jack's hideout, to find the evidence necessary to frame him! The chief of police has given you one hour for the mission. The rickety elevator leads you down into a world of shady tunnel systems and terrifying characters. If you're unlucky enough to run into Jack down there - run! And beware of the dark, he hides in the shadows…

110 escape rooms

There is a lot of bad about this room. But keeping it simple, there was a room that we accidentally locked ourselves into. All the doors were locked, and there was no way for us to progress. We spent 10 minutes in there trying to get out. There was no way for us to contact the GM; we waved at the camera, we tried talking to the GMs. Nothing. We were stuck in that room with no way out. The only way out was to literally force the door open that we were not meant to open. We then were able to process properly, but it was obvious that no one was paying attention to our progress in the room. Keep in mind, this is also not a normal escape room; this is a score-based “replay this room” a bunch to try to get a better score. There are things that you will only be able to do in a second play-through (such as hidden things in the wall). Seems more like a cash grab to try to get people to run the same room multiple times. They were not upfront with this; it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Because of this, they have multiple teams going through the same time, and they have to hold you in rooms after you have completed all the tasks if you move too fast. For example, we finished the first part too fast and needed a key to progress. We spent a couple of minutes searching for one, when suddenly one randomly fell from the ceiling. So… 🤷‍♂️. This is fine to do, but tell us ahead of time.

This room is a genuine safety hazard. Our experience started poorly before we even got inside. We were kept waiting on the street until our exact time slot, and with the temperature outside it was miserable. We later discovered there was an indoor waiting area that we were never told about until after the experience. The room is designed in three timed segments of 20 minutes each, but the staff never explained this to us. They were so focused on maintaining immersion that they skipped critical briefing details. If you finish a segment early, your progression stalls until the timer runs out. This created awkward moments where things in the room were triggering on their own without any input from us. Multiple times throughout the experience, we were led into dark rooms and expected to move through them quickly. What no one mentioned beforehand was that the floors were uneven and completely unmarked. This created serious tripping hazards. But the worst was yet to come. We entered a room with running water, listened to a phone prompt, and the room "unlocked." We weren't expecting it though, and let the door close again. This broke the game. The staff had expected someone to move through immediately, and when we didn't, we found ourselves locked in with no way forward or backward. We spent around 10 minutes stuck, trying everything we could think of to progress, completely unaware that the game had broken. We attempted multiple ways to contact the game master and received no response. Eventually, a member of our group had to force the door open just so we could continue. We figured someone from the company would acknowledge what happened, but no one ever did. We completed the remaining segments in the final room, which progressed mostly normally. By that point our group was frustrated and upset. Part of our group also experienced an extra element during the final elevator sequence, which was a complete miss. Afterward, we were led to their speakeasy, where they expected us to relax and spend money. At this point everyone in our group just wanted to leave. When we tried to, the staff stopped us, and we figured it was to talk about how the experience went. Instead they just gave us our scores with no acknowledgment of anything that had gone wrong. They obviously were not watching us, and were completely disconnected from our playthrough. This is where it gets dangerous. There was no fire safety process or emergency exit system. That room we had locked ourselves in had left us genuinely stuck with no forward or backwards progression. We felt unsafe, and in the case of a fire or other emergency, we would not have been able to leave. Do NOT run this room until these genuine safety concerns are fixed, but I also don't recommend running the room in general. This company is not setup and is actively putting their patrons in danger. Combined with the high volume that they're trying to achieve it all completely falls apart.
