Perhaps the greatest feat of mental strength which human beings possess is our ability to overcome our fears.

Really enjoyed this room, there were definitely some unique things to encounter in this room and how it played out. I am not a 'scary' person, I don't necessarily like haunted housed, but this was the right amount of scary and I'd definitely recommend. We had 7 people which was a good amount, we appreciated having some extra hands.

Great set design, some cool puzzles, and a fun ending. There was no timer in the room and the guide didn’t seem to know what our time was either when we got out. Their rooms are public bookings with the option to make them private.

This was my first time at the Bates Motel location, as this is a spinoff of the haunted house branch and contains other escape rooms as well as other activities. Having worked an escape room before, Bates rooms came up rather often from customers, and it was nice to finally see if they lived up to their hype. Short answer: Yes. Long answer, the rest of this section. We chose "Revenge of the Serial Killer" as our room, and generic name aside, the theming is on brand, which is expected from a group well known for doing haunted houses. The initial experience is a lot more forward and strict than most escape rooms. No phones, no coats, no bags, no notepads. Lockers provided thankfully, but they're serious enough about kicking out players or ending the game if you disobey by leaving the room or using a phone you snuck in, even as a flashlight. Even the opening movie/briefing is on brand themed to the room before you are taken back. Before even being allowed to enter the group you have is split up. The room requires a minimum group size for a reason as one person is taken in alone, and the rest are divided among three small rooms, to fit the story of being kidnapped and placed into different cells. The idea being to communicate between the small teams each with a responsibility to reach the next room and come together. There were clever ways to pass info between but does limit you to the skill level and willingness to communicate among the players in that team. There's a good amount of influence from the Saw movie franchise. Some nearly one for one recreations of famous locations, and some puzzles in spirit. More than a few reminded me of Saw 5 specifically and the puzzles with a similar focus on group cooperation and perceived danger really sell the atmosphere. This is also a room that does VERY well with keeping flow oblivious and clues straight forward by coded hints scrawled all over. In theme with the horror elements from a haunted house company there are some scares. Not as many jump scares as one would expect, but some sudden loud noises and one very special surprise scare that I refuse to spoil. This room has plenty of surprises and I really want to see what else they have on offer. This is probably the escape room with the most puzzles and rooms I've even done, all being very interesting and fun challenges with a mix of clever solutions, interactive elements and even a few classic "box and locks" for good measure. Highly recommended.
Few to no esoteric puzzles, the entire event is easy to figure out from start to finish. It's easy to piece things together, and you'll be warned or advised about anything that may impede your progress or cause an issue within the room.
While the design if the rooms was very "boxy" the elements within are appropriately creepy, gross and on brand for a Saw inspired serial killer room.
There isn't a monitor in the room as the usual, but an intercom in the room allows for direct communication. Only once were we outright directed to a solution, which was near the end and likely as a means to ensure room completion.
Scary
Most of the room isn't super spooky but there are unsettling moments that require some fairly brave volunteers and actions that will go against most of your self preservation instincts. You won't get hurt, but they definitely want you to feel like you will.

The theming and noises, as well as the knowledge requirement of puzzles won't sit well with anyone in early gradeschool but if your teenage son or daughter has entered their "edgy phase" they'll probably have a good time with all the grotesque imagery.
Yes
Technically yes.... You'll know it when you see it.
Somewhat
There's a few situations where people are going to have to get "cozy" with each other, and there's a lot of boxes and pipes that require a bit of stretching, bending and sitting to reach properly.

Very clever touches. The more engaged and interactive you are, the more fun it is.

The ambiance of this room is really solid, you feel like you are trapped in the movie SAW, amd at times the puzzles can even sleeve you out! There were two that I know I wouldn't have been able to solve without my standard crew running with me. I would highly recommend this room! I'd totally say that it's not scarey, but you need to prepare yourself for it. Kiddos might get overwhelmed by it, but otherwise, a really solid room

Theme was good, room was appropriately gross (in a good way) and the beginning / ending were particularly well done. Won't spoil, but they get major creativity points for a few sections. I've never seen one thing in a room before. This is a solid experience.

I would recommend this place if you are looking for rooms that are really good looking. Their design alone made them impressive. Unfortunately in the rooms their puzzles were a little linear. A lot of things were also left open in our game which really took away from our experience in this room.
Some of the puzzles in this room were really cool. One of the puzzles in this room was especially unique. Separating the group in the beginning is a really fun concept! I want to give this a thumbs up however, the ending was a little meh, and a lot of props were left open for our experience.
The sets at Bates were amazing! They were definitely the best part of the experience.
Reception was a little standoffish but overall they were accommodating!
