Soul Survivor │ prev. Mirror Mansion

This was a solidly ok room. It’s mostly linear with a few puzzles that you feel like you should be able to work on at the same time. This group tends to have puzzles that are suuuuuuper touchy and some that require attention to minute details. There was one puzzle that completely stalled us due to it being so exacting with what it needed. We lost all momentum and struggled to get through the rest of the game. Not my favorite, but it probably would have been better for us if we hadn’t gotten stuck on the one puzzle.

There were some fun mechanics and set pieces in the room and the game master was great, but I would not recommend this room. There was a closet area that looked under construction? With neon tape and a broken door? Some of the mechanics didn't work right and and the story telling is confusing overall, leading to a confusing ending. One particular puzzle felt completely lacking in logic, simply just a try something and see, which sometimes is fine, but in this case just added to the frustration when coupled with the hit or miss mechanics. It just felt a little lacking overall.

This room was a treat! It started out pretty challenging without the most obvious way to start but once the room starts going, it's got so many surprises and everything makes sense with a little bit of thought. Definitely a more challenging room so I don't recommend it for those new to Escape Rooms.
