Outage: No Vacancy

This room is a dislike for me, but it’s not inherently a bad room like those with puzzle flaws or those that just don’t make any sense. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. In fact, my other teammates actually loved the room. It is played in complete darkness 80% of the time which means you have to feel around for stuff. For me, rather than work on the puzzles, I was much more focused on trying not to run into my teammates. This room isn’t for everyone and certainly wasn’t for me. But…give it a try! Maybe you’ll like it! This is my ranking of all the games I’ve played at this location: 1. Cornstalkers 2. Neighborhood Watcher 3. Arctic Storm 4. Bros for Life 5. Satirical Miracle 6. Outage

This is a very divisive room…you’ll either love it or hate it. The start of the room starts in a well-lit space, but the last 2/3 of the room is in pitch darkness. The room is not scary. The footprint of this room is tiny, so a group of 2-3 is perfect, no more than that! Good communication is ESSENTIAL. Where are you? Where are your teammates? What do you discover only using your sense of touch? This is my first all-dark experience, and now I wanna do more!

Fun room and I recommend it to experience something different. Just can’t give it a love because the other rooms are so much better.

Really fun dark escape room that suits a duo team really well!

Spend a majority of the room in pure darkness! This hones in more on communication for success, rather than “wits” or putting so & so together. No jump scares in this room (which was a bummer)

I have been looking forward to visiting Escape Ventures and they did not disappoint. We were from out of town and played all 6 of their escape rooms in one day. It was such a great time and I cannot thank the team enough for treating us so well and making us laugh, chasing us around, and giving us the best experience of a lifetime. Now for Outage: No Vacancy If you have never been to a pitch black room, prepare yourself! This is such a different experience in that you really have to depend on your other senses without your ability to see. 90% of this room is done in the dark. I did wish that we could see the room afterwards but my hubby and I communicate pretty well and we were able to get out quickly without too many hints! I’m impressed with how safe they have to make it because folks can really hurt themselves if they are not too careful in the dark!

We really loved this room, did it with just the two of us and had a great time. The puzzles were different and flowed really well.

The theme was decent and did what it needed to do, create a reason for us to be solving puzzles in the dark. The live actor chimed in here and there but wasn't a big part of this room. The puzzles that were solved in the dark were all tactile enough that they are quite doable (once you find them). There were just me and one other person and we bumped into each other on occasion. We had a good laugh, but I bet it could feel tight with a largish group. There was one puzzle that I wasn't sure if I would be ruining my chances of solving it by changing its start state. Instructions specifically for this room make a point of calling out the initial state of puzzles implying that if you change the state and don't remember what it started at then it could be a problem. But honestly I'm not sure I recall any puzzles where that was the case.
