The atmosphere kind of made sense for the theme, but it didn’t fully land for me. I was hoping the room would lean more into a true “film” feeling, but that part of the experience felt a little underdeveloped. The set had moments that worked, but overall, I felt like the theme could have been stronger and more immersive. The puzzles were okay. Some of them made sense with the set, but others felt like they could have been replaced with something more creative or better connected to the story. A few props were also noticeably worn down, and the room could definitely use some retouching and maintenance, especially with the locks and puzzle pieces. The flow was one of the more confusing parts for me. It felt linear at times, but also non-linear in a way that made it hard to tell what we should be focusing on. There were also a lot of close-attention-to-detail puzzles, which made parts of the room feel more like time killers than enjoyable challenges. I also felt like the room was hard for the wrong reasons. There was no notepad or anything to write information down, and later in the game, it felt like one was needed. Personally, I think every escape room should provide some way for players to take notes, especially if the game has puzzles that require remembering or tracking details. The GM was great and answered all of our questions, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself just didn’t come together for me. It had some decent ideas, but the worn props, confusing flow, and lack of note-taking made the experience more frustrating than fun. 2/5.
