Jungle Safari

I can’t rate this properly as I’d already done exactly this room with a completely different company in BC. So be aware if you’ve already played a Jumanji room where you move pieces around a board as the main mechanic, it may be a duplicate. That being said the room is fairly meh. Everything worked but I didn’t necessarily find any of the puzzles interesting. Based on the level of difficulty I’d say it’s good for beginners but I also don’t think the board game mechanic is good to give people the impression that “this is what escape rooms are” so I don’t really know who to recommend this room to. The room is also dark/low level light and I don’t really know why (it’s not supposed to be spooky). So that aggravated me more than created some sense of immersion.

There’s barely any set design, and the game primarily consists of locks. The board game element is the only highlight. The second room is quite empty, and as a group of four, we finished 20 minutes early. When the door opened, no one greeted us, leaving us confused about whether we had completed the game. We had to walk to the front desk to confirm.

This would be a good room if they fixed the issues. We ran into issues repeatedly with things not working as intended. It was a fun idea for a room, and the puzzles would have been interesting. But several of the mechanics not working as intended completely ruined the experience for us. We had to use hints for the staff to tell us we found the solution but the mechanisms were finicky. The staff had warned us about one of the mechanisms at the start, but there were several other issues. By the time we got things worming we had already spent so much time trying to figure out what we were doing wrong that we ran out of time. But since noone had the room booked after us they let us continue after time expired which was nice of them.
