I've done dozens of escape rooms and this was one of my favorites. While linear in nature, it was very unique and fun. In many rooms, it's not always intuitive to me what comes next or how to complete unique puzzles but this room mostly made sense to me. As others have stated, there is very low light in most of this room with use of mediocre flashlights built into heavy boxes that you carry around. Others have talked about heavy fog machine use but they did not use the fog machine at all in our room.

We've done dozens of escape rooms and this room offered variations of things we had done in the past but also puzzles that we had never done before.

We completed this room as two experienced gamers with almost no help but there was at least one puzzle that would have been helpful to have had an extra set of hands

I know seeing yet another Egyptian room may give pause to those who feel like they’ve seen ‘em all but this one is definitely special! Very immersive and incredible set design, and a lot of the puzzles were unique for this style of room as well. We were warned multiple times before the room that groups of two rarely get out however we didn’t find it particularly difficult and I don’t necessarily think you’d need anymore than 2 to do the same especially if you’re well seasoned.

Gameplay

Nothing too particularly challenging in our experience, completing the room without any hints. Some of the usual Egyptian tropes but also some new spins

Atmosphere

The dark adds so much to the experience. Very unique and the ambiance is the definitive selling point for this room imo.

I'm going to start by saying that I LOVE Conundrum rooms. They are consistently awesome, both the Lakewood and Arvada locations. Path of the Gods is no exception. Gameplay is clever, logical, and coherent. But this is probably the only one I've actually gotten frustrated in because it's just SO DARK. I found myself carrying the heavy lantern the whole time because my very weak night-sight was no match for the puzzles in the tomb. Just a word of warning if your eyes aren't fab either!

I have played enough Egyptian themed rooms that I am often skeptical of how much more they can do with the theme. However, Path of the Gods delivers on puzzles. There is one puzzle in particular that I really liked that differentiates it for me, even though it required all my brain powers We were always doing something in the hour we were there. Multiple puzzles took advantage of the smaller space. There were also puzzles happening in parallel so divide and conquer is a good strategy. My only thing is that the wall-mounted torches and handheld flashlights promised enough light to see everything sufficiently well and it did not. I was still struggling to see and balance the flashlights (which are heavy). This does not feel great because the challenge should be mostly the puzzles and not my lack of ability to see the puzzles due to the darkness. The ending made up for the lackluster start but our game master did a fantastic job of acting that I almost forgot how bare the beginning of our experience was. A solid experience and I wish we got a chance to play Experiment C-73! Next time when we are in Colorado.

Great game play, lots of fun puzzles and great theme. A previous comment stated that the fog was too much but the game masters must have listened because it was a good amount of fog and not overdone. We enjoyed our research assistant Prof. J, he made the experience even better. Highly recommend giving this room a try.

Amazing escape room, I only have 2 complaints though.. The room is extremely dark. They give you flashlights to attempt to counteract it, but it was still hard to see. There is a fog machine in most of the escape room, so it gets stuffy and hard to breathe. The room is Linear so it was pretty annoying, me and my friends have developed a strategy where we worked on different puzzles at the same time, and 2/3 of us were working on something pointless. Amazing room though, I would highly recommend Also look out, it also has fake spiders and cramped spaces where you need to crawl through.

A bit too dark though..

Thanks for the feedback! The fog should only really be run in the last 5-10 minutes at the end of the game, but some of our game masters like to add more for atmosphere. We'll make sure they're not overdoing it in the future!

Very puzzley! If you’re a puzzle person, this one is for you! Lots of dense, multi step puzzles that require teamwork. Bring your A game! (It’s also quite dark, and the lighting they give you is a bit unwieldy. Not my favorite mechanic, but it definitely set the mood!)

Indiana Jones vibes done well. This room has a cinematic flair that really puts it over the top for me. The audio was standout as better than any escape room I have done on memory. The puzzles are really well integrated within the story and our GM’s passion sealed the deal on this being an awesome experience. Definitely don’t do this room if you’re afraid of the dark. 👀👀
