On January 20, 2017, a brutal murder took place in Room 101 of Goodview Condo. A famous journalist, Ann, was found dead in her own home. That night, a violent storm poured down relentlessly, washing away nearly every trace of evidence. For months, the police were left with nothing. The case went cold. Ann’s husband, Rain Gu, suffers from severe retrograde amnesia. He can only remember events from the past few days. Her death was a devastating blow — but he never stopped searching for the truth. Tonight, the storm has returned. Rain sits alone in his condo, replaying every fragment he can remember, every detail of the case. As thunder rumbles outside, the phone suddenly rings…

Note: I did this during their soft launch, so some tech/prop improvements could change going forward This was a good room overall. It is very similar to The Hunt (their other English room) in terms of very narrative-focused puzzles and detective work. You are essentially piecing together a crime while you have amnesia, solving it all by the end of the room. I think this room really shines in organizing your clues and allowing you to read/revisit important clues around (which was tougher to do so in The Hunt). I had a way stronger understanding of what the story was at every stage of the experience compared to most rooms like this. This also is a more complicated story than The Hunt, which I enjoyed, but one of our group members found it hard to fully grasp. They had a post-game video that helped piece any missing threads together which led to a satisfying story imo. The vibe/ambience of the space isn’t as interesting or stimulating compared to The Hunt. I’m a sucker for spooky rooms so maybe that’s just my bias. Also some of the rooms could have resembled what they were supposed to be better. Also some props could be more responsive/intuitive to use.

Toronto’s First Chinese-Language Escape Room First, the verdict‼️ I highly recommend giving it a try!! 🌟 A room filled entirely with mechanical puzzles—no combination locks—and a single storyline. The sound effects are perfectly synchronized, creating a truly immersive experience that makes you feel like you’re right there. 🌟 The puzzles are innovative yet cohesive, with each one building on the last. The owner provides key hints at just the right moments, making the overall experience very smooth. Of course, this might also be due to the absence of a language barrier. 🌟 Four people is the perfect group size. It’s not a horror-themed escape room, but there are some little surprises. The session lasts an hour and a half, which is plenty of time to take your time. There’s an Easter egg in the final room—we were so focused on opening the door that we completely missed it. 🌟 The plot is actually pretty easy to predict, but thanks to the well-paced design, we really enjoyed the process of unraveling the mystery.
