Complete Your Daring Prison Escape Many consider Prison Break our most difficult escape room. Players are split into two different prison cells and must work together to get out of a 1950s style prison. A successful escape will include a sneaky trip to the wardenβs office. An unsuccessful escape will land you in prison forever. Yes, those are real prison toiletsβ¦.what can we say? We are obsessed with creating realistic environments.

This was a very fun and exciting game! The set design was fabulous and the tasks were very novel for me. The Escape Game has really mastered set design - this was our fourth room with them and we have been wowed with each one ("The Depths" was my favorite even though we did not successfully escape that one). I really loved how our group was split into two cells at the beginning and how we had to work together to reunite. This was my 16th game (12W-4L) so I consider myself a novice. Our group was composed of seven players with similar statistics (5 adults, 2 tweens) and I thought this was a hard game. We received a couple of hints and escaped by the skin of our teeth (17 sec). The last task was funny.
The story and game flowed VERY well. The set was very authentic... er, I mean, I think it was... I've never actually been in prison.
Two thumbs up for the set design, props and puzzles!
All of the staff at The Escape Game are friendly and welcoming.

This was our first prison-themed game. I felt like I was in "The Shawshank Redemption"
I really like the plot and set design.
Hard
This was my 16th game (12W-4L) so I consider myself a novice. Our group was composed of seven players with similar statistics (5 adults, 2 tweens) and I thought this was a hard game. We escaped with only 17 seconds remaining.
Mechanical
I prefer mechanical rooms, so this was perfect for me. There were a few high tech aspects, but more mechanical.

Because you're split into two different rooms at the beginning, you need at least two players, but I think playing with only two would be very difficult. If you're an advanced player you could play with three or four. Novices (like me) should bring five or six. There are plenty of puzzles to go around.

There is crawling, kneeling, throwing, aiming, etc.
There is crawling involved, but perhaps the company has a way around this part. There are small areas so wheelchairs might have troubles. There are visual and tactile puzzles too.

We took the Green trolley to the Gaslamp stop and it was an easy one block walk from the station.
IDK, probably expensive. We took the Green trolley ($2.50) to the Gaslamp stop and it was an easy one block walk from the station.

Barely escaped this one. This was an incredibly difficult room that requires a ton of collaboration amongst your teammates! I would highly recommend this room!

I think this room has it all. Multiple rooms. Split team. High tech. Good puzzles. Potentially non-linear. Really enjoyed this room. I think they're so confident in their production that they even allow photos and videos literally during the room. First time I've been to a room that allows that. They have infinite clues in this room. We escaped with barely any time, but I also spammed the clue button for the last 15 minutes, just every time we completed a clue I pressed it again. Pretty shameful as someone who prides themself on being experienced at escape rooms. One crazy thing is also the fact that you actually break some props which I've also never experienced at any room. Some unfortunate things about the room are that it is shared unless you book all the slots. We ended up with 3 randoms with my party of 4. Another thing was that a lock can be opened with your hand, without the tool. However, we didn't even do this because the door latch actually broke off. We ended up skipping like half of the puzzles in a room, but I guess at least we probably wouldn't have escaped otherwise. Lastly, our GM also wasn't the most friendly. Though she did explain the puzzles we missed, she went too fast and I still am missing a piece of the puzzle. She kinda ignored me after I asked to clarify again. The receptionist Lily was very nice though. All in all, really great room. A little on the pricey side ($44) but worth it in my opinion. Hoping to do other rooms here in the future!

Changed this from expert to hard, I think actually you shouldn't have too many people or it'll make it harder

Loved this room - game master gave two hints without asking so just make sure you tell them ahead if you want hints or not
