This was our first horror game and also the first game we did with just the two of us. The room is small and it is great for couples of maybe a team of 3. It is good mix of tech and mechanical locks. A couple of puzzles took us a bit longer to solve than others, so that slowed us down, but I think that was more of us overthinking than the design. It had a couple of spooky/scary moments that I won’t spoil, but they definitely had me “checking” my surroundings from time to time. If you play it, you’ll figure out what I mean. We definitely enjoyed the rush of adrenaline that the suspense gave us. We had a great game master, and we enjoyed the souvenir we got to take with us. We enjoy Ocala Escape, their rooms and their staff are great.

Another fabulous room for the Ocala escape! We have been waiting to do this room since it opened, so it was such a delight when we were able to book it. The design is as perfect as always, and you can really tell that the staff put a lot of effort into making sure that you’re really feeling like you’re stuck there in the basement! The puzzles were challenging without being difficult, the use of props, as well as affects were amazing! We loved the live actor coming in, and of course, locking you in a small little room was really fun 😂 We had a blast, it kept us on our toes the entire time, I definitely recommend for a couple or for two people if you’re looking for something scary that’s not gonna be overwhelming.
Flowed well, didn’t require background, knowledge, or other rooms to have done!
We love the atmosphere! Definitely on the creepy side, but still fun!
As always, the staff was an absolute pleasure!
Story was great, and they really use the story plot line in the room well!

Fun room that is a bit different than their others. The use of tech is pretty clever and my wife and I had a great time!

The Basement is a two-room game filled with a mix of locks and tech. The rooms are small, but the tech was well-used and added much to the experience. A live actress in the room improved the game and was well-timed and not overbearing. This game is linear, and some elements are poorly placed, resulting in inadvertent red herrings. I suggest asking your game master where to start, as linear games tend to be frustrating when you first begin. This will likely cut down on wasted time and unnecessary irritation. As far as the scare factor, this is pretty tame. The great use of tech will sneak up on you, though. This isn't your typical animatronic jump scare room - it is much better. Overall, I like this game, and it's worth the ticket price and time to play it.
It's fun, but I'm not fond of linear gameplay, so I have a bias.
