EscapeReview
54 escape rooms
The story of this room is that you have to solve a murder mystery in a train compartment before the train reaches its final destination, allowing the killer to escape. Without spoiling too much, we can say it wasn't the butler—in fact, we can't really tell you who the killer was, even though we completed the room. Our impression was that the puzzles didn't support the storyline very convincingly, even though the setting creates a good atmosphere. We were not impressed by the introduction videos at all, as the gamemaster could easily handle this task much better. As a general note regarding Riddlehouse rooms in Copenhagen, we strongly advise against trying them when the weather is warm, as there is no ventilation or option to open any windows. It was unreasonably hot when we tackled this room. The room is estimated for 2–6 people, but our assessment is that 6 is a bit too much, as the puzzles create a bottleneck where it is difficult to involve everyone. The gameplay is linearly structured. Our experience with the puzzles and their solutions was that they had a simple structure, lacking creativity compared to several other rooms we have tried. There were a few puzzles that earned points for creativity, but unfortunately, one of them was broken, which caused quite a bit of confusion since it wasn't marked as out of order. After completing the room, there was a broad consensus that this was not among the better rooms we have tried, which was a combination of the heat (it felt like a sauna) and the structure of the puzzles.
