Permanently Closed - Doc Wilkes was always infatuated about the study of “white noise” and what it could do to people... Between 1980 and 1981, Doc Wilkes set up a room that blocked out 99% of all external sound in his basement in Central Ohio and performed “white noise” torture on victims. By doing this he found that nobody can take more than 45 minutes alone in the room before they go insane, and when it's quiet, ears will adapt. The quieter the room, the more things you hear. You'll hear your heart beating; sometimes you can hear your lungs, hear your stomach gurgling loudly. In his basement, you became the sound. Doc Wilkes came to realize that this was a very disorientating experience. Not stopping the madness there, Doc began to do experiments with the victim’s on their brains, hearts, and many other organs. Within the 2 years of Doc’s mad experiments, the local police got involved and finally caught on to the gruesome attacks, and Wilkes was put in the local jail where it is said that he committed 2 more killings before being moved to Granger Asylum in South Texas. Granger Asylum was the home of over 2000 patients. As Wilkes sat in his 6x10 cubical for almost a decade he began to go even more insane. As years past and the decline of patients in 1991 the entire hospital closed their doors, and had to move their patients to another facility. It is said that on the move the bus Wilkes was being transported in crashed and caught fire… The remains of the people in the bus were unknown… Police and investigators searched the area for possible escapees, but nothing turned up, and the case was closed… Not knowing Wilkes had escaped…
