This year’s story takes us back to the beginnings of one of our favorite seasonal brews, Evil Dead Red Ale. Now Evil Dead Red has been around and brewed for quite some time. Some people can’t get enough of this seasonal release. Some say it tastes like autumn in a glass… but do you know the origins of it? Back in ole’ west, these here parts were mighty different. In the town of Calavera Springs, not too far from where the brewery now stands, a crazy brewmaster, better known as Old Man Zien, came up with a fermented concoction to quench the thirst of the local townsfolk who were suffering from a devastating 10-year long drought. But… what was in it? As the locals consumed more and more of it, they began to notice strange things happening once the sun fell past the western horizon each night. Some say that the dead rose from the grave. Some say that’s an urban myth and the town simply wasted away into the desert. Who knows?
