Scenario #6 You've been locked up in Parkside Prison for a while now. Things were always a little weird here but recently you've noticed things have gotten even weirder...
22 escape rooms
It’s always interesting to find smaller escape rooms that are out of the way, and Seven Keys really showed that they care for making something special with what space they have. Definitely a more mechanical based room with plenty of locks, but some more electronic based ones further in. Quite the unique hint system that I’ve not seen done before, too! The game master was nice and accommodating to our group after we mistakenly booked for the wrong day and made sure we could come in when we meant to. And the room apparently cycles out each year. I’d recommend giving them a chance if you haven’t already!

Room was very interesting, well designed and dressed and in good repair. My group of 3 had a great time working through the many many puzzles and were pleasantly suprised with how the experience advanced compared to how simple it seemed from the start. Nice mix of puzzles that required teamwork and solo-able puzzles that we could split off and do seperately. The hint system was delightful and unlike anything we had seen before and was not intrusive at all. Hints were not requested at any time and the only ones we got were from the GM verifying our room talk that we had the information already for the current tasks. overall a great experience and looking forward to the next room refresh or time we host family for a reason to go back.
Gameplay was interesting and varied from start to finish. The experience had some code recognition, searching, physical coordination puzzles, etc. never felt like the puzzles were wasting time or unthematic
Was a bit cleaner than i would expect a prison to be, but other than that it was very well done. felt like we were really breaking out of the cells and using appropriate props.
Gm was super nice and helpful. there were some issues with the booking confirmation that i had called about prior to the visit and the situation was handled by the time we arrived. Gm did a great job briefing us before hand and giving us a gentle confirmation as we made our way through the experience without giving us the answers.
Yes
This room was very interesting in it's use of splitting the group and having multiple puzzles that required "blind" cooperation that was very fun and exciting compared to other rooms we have done in the area
Story was probably the weakest part, there is a story and theme present through the whole experience but it's not much more than the box standard " you're prisoners and have a window of about an hour to escape" there is a more to it but not so much that stood out.
Hard
Recommended group size is 4 and we attempted with 3 and had a good time. There are a lot of puzzles to work through so most of the difficulty came from volume.
Mechanical
all of the puzzles relied on manual inputs/locks but utilized multimedia and a couple interesting sensors to figure out some clues.
4
4 people who have done atleast 1 or 2 escape rooms before would be ideal.
Not scary
Theme and setting are not scary but there is a smaller dark portion that may trigger some claustrophobia or people afraid of darkenss.

i think this venue has a minimum age of 13, not entirely sure

everything worked great and was in good repair, this location changes their room every year or so from what i was told and this new room was just opened to the public about 2-3 weeks ago so that things are still pretty new.

required a little crawling and physical dexterity for a couple puzzles
room is on the 2nd floor of the building so not very wheel chair accessible, areas of the rooms require reading red on black and crawling into/ manuvering around a dark space would be difficult for visually impaired people
