Cirque Macabre

Permanently Closed - During the last 30 years the world's taste for live entertainment has changed. The days of going out to see High Wire Acts, Lion tamers, Tumblers, and Flying Trapeze Daredevils, were gone and along with them the need to have Troubadours with whiteface chase their sorrows away. Why go out when you have Movies and TV? The need for Circus clowns was at an end. As these men and women found themselves out of work, many became depressed, angry and bitter. Some seeking treatment became institutionalized. A small group of these resentful performers banded together and called themselves Klowns as a parody of their former lives. If they could not bring joy, smiles, or happiness, than they would bring Screams!! They would delight in tormenting the same crowds that scorned them. For years the troupe traveled Europe under the name Cirque Macabre (meaning Gruesome Circus). Always moving to another town when too many citizens went "missing". They finally found a home in Spooky World. Under the guise of a "haunted house attraction" the Klowns are free to wreak havoc with the guests. Be careful or you may be the unlucky one in 50 that never leaves!!
