My wife and I visited on a Monday afternoon, and when we arrived, the lobby was eerily empty. After a few minutes, a staff member greeted us, but he seemed unaware that we had a 3:30 pm reservation. He had to create a new puzzle piece because the previous group had taken theirs, though it seemed like they hadn't been properly prepared for that. After a rushed briefing—likely due to him being behind—we were quickly ushered into the room without much of an introduction or sense of the story. The room was supposed to be dark, with four flashlights to help us navigate, but only one flashlight worked, and another was so dim that it died completely before we even reached the final puzzle. The space itself felt underwhelming—old, mismatched furniture that didn’t quite fit the theme and lacked any real atmosphere. While I enjoyed solving the puzzles themselves, they felt disconnected from the story, like random tasks thrown together without much thought. We were so close to escaping, but ultimately, we couldn’t pull it off. The lack of functional flashlights made teamwork impossible, and we ended up feeling frustrated instead of engaged. Overall, the experience was pretty underwhelming—uninspired puzzles, little immersion, and a staff member who seemed more distracted than focused on delivering a great experience. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone looking for a truly memorable escape room adventure.

Temple: King Kuhli is hiding his treasure in a secret temple. Our goal was to get in and get out with the treasure before our time was up. Murder Scene: A serial killer on the loose, and we had to track the murderer down before we became the next victim. Bunker Room: Terrorists are threatening to launch a nuclear attack against Washington D.C. We had to stop the launch sequence and save the nation. Pros: All of the rooms at Xcape Room Fresno consisted of a nice balance of searching for clues and puzzle solving. We needed hints at times to solve the puzzles successfully but the clues were mostly logical overall. The game master was helpful and assisted us as necessary. We really enjoyed the immersive set of Temple and definitely recommend it as their best room. Cons: The puzzles were logical but more like riddles and math problems and less unique. We prefer when puzzles are themed to the individual game and unique to the specific place. Overall we had a great time at Xcape Fresno and definitely recommend playing a game or three with them!

Room designed with what looked like Goodwill furniture. Puzzles were ok but the lack of imagery in the room really killed the experience. Too expensive for what the room offered.

It was intended to be spooky but missed the mark.
