Remember, you “get busy living or get busy dying.” (Andy Dufresne). The Sheepshank Redemption was a very interactive and busy escape room, but I truly had a great time with this one! Its theme is similar to the film, Shawshank Redemption, but you don’t necessarily need knowledge of the film to escape. What Sheepshank Redemption does well is its blend of storytelling with puzzles and the added pressure of being in a cell block. The puzzles were semi non-linear but made sense with the story of where and why. It’s a split-start beginning which tests your teamwork and communication skills, and the linear gameplay was a nice touch. The ending was creative and worked well with your mission. I will admit, this escape room is VERY puzzle heavy and can be tedious if you aren’t paying attention. You truly have to listen or you might miss some of the tasks at hand, but I would highly recommend Sheepshank Redemption!
The gameplay was in a semi non-linear format, but you do need to communicate with one another because you may solve certain clue paths and end up at the same one in order to continue. This room was puzzle heavy and can be very tedious because of the Night Sky and darkness, but still climatic when you are able to locate certain clues and solve the puzzles.
The set design was truly impressive. You can tell a lot of work and detail went into Sheepshank Redemption because of the lighting, sounds and background music, the appropriate utilization of the physical space, and the props that were used. The best part was the ending because of how you Escape and end the game.

A 90minute experience. Fun and challenging but some what non linear so the clues didn’t always make sense.

There were a few puzzles that didn’t quite work, but we were able to solve them. One lock just opened without us having to do anything which was a bummer.

I feel bad giving this room a thumbs-down. I really want to like this room but there were a few too many glitches and even after some of the puzzles were explained to me, I was still scratching my head. This room has only been opened a short time, so I think the kinks will be worked out soon. A group of seven players completed the room before us and they came out with big smiles on their faces, so take my review with a grain of salt. It is definitely a VERY hard room. Expert level, actually. It was my 39th escape room (34W - 5L) and I played with four other players with similar stats (age range 13-58). We usually request zero hints, however, we needed a TON of hints today. We asked for so many that I lost count. And we used the full 90 min. As mentioned, we played as a group of five, but I think a group of eight would have been better only because you start the game locked into four separate jail cells and two brains per cell would have been helpful. On a more positive note, the set design was amazing and the theme / story line was immersive. "Shawshank Redemption" is one of my favorite movies so Lara's gets gold stars from me for their adaptation of an escape room. Our GM was very helpful and patient and the owner was very welcoming and friendly.
Changing the standard prison-escape escape room into The Shawshank Redemption theme was an awesome idea. I love that movie so the attention paid to decorations and characters was terrific.
The decorations were very high end and totally in theme with the movie.
Our GM was very patient and helpful. Unfortunately, we needed a TON of hints but he ensured that we escaped within 90min. The owner was very friendly and welcoming.

I love how they took a standard prison-escape theme and embellished it to make it true to the Shawshank Redemption movie.
I usually don't listen to escape room plots, but this story was very memorable.

I think this room is VERY hard. It was my 39th room (34W - 5L) and I played with four other players with similar stats.
High tech
The room was a mixture of tech and mechanical, but slightly more tech, I think?

We played as a group of five and were VERY challenged. The game requires a minimum of four players because you start in four separate jail cells. I think two minds working each room would have been helpful.
Not scary
We don't play scary rooms.

The puzzles were VERY hard. Our youngest player was 13 and I think he had fun.
Yes
Not exactly broken, but two of the puzzles were glitchy and required a little extra force (which escape rooms usually frown upon), I think one prop might have been missing, and a cabinet was sticky and required force to open. I think these kinks will be worked out over time, so take my criticism lightly.
No
No actors, thank goodness.
Somewhat
There was a lot of walking around, some climbing, some crawling, lifting etc.
I think this room would be difficult for any impairment. I don't think it is wide enough for a wheelchair, plus hearing, vision, and color vision are all necessary.

This is a very busy 4 player game. Requires some decent communication skills.
