Sorcerer's Sanctum

Tier: C+ (see bio) An overall decent room. It begins with a fully-split split group section. I’ve never played another game fully-split like this and I didn’t really like that format as it made me feel like I was missing part of the game and also missing time with my team. It does make this game more ideal for (slightly) larger groups though. Other than that it’s just a pretty decent magic game with some unique puzzle ideas. There’s also a fun reveal and some decent tech. My main issue is that some of the puzzles are a bit too complicated. One of the last puzzles in particular had a very unnecessary second puzzle its answer tied to that was way too stupidly complicated (and didn’t feel like an escape room puzzle). I don’t think it’s even close to the quality of any of Omescape’s newer games, but I think it’s worth playing, especially if you have a group of 4-5, which most Omescape games aren’t ideal for (either working best for more or less). I believe this is Harry Potter, sorta. There are Potterish creatures. There are wands. It’s far from my favorite room from the mostly excellent Omescape. The split start at the beginning seems pointless, and I’m thankful our GM just let our small team of 2 do both rooms in a row instead of being stuck alone in each room. The final set of puzzles are not super intuitive or fun. A big thanks again to our GM for giving us extra time especially since we lost time for not having enough people for a puzzle. Again, there are better Omescapes out there though this isn’t too bad.

Decent room. Some random puzzles. The majority of them did stick to the theme. We had fun.

I loved the use of space and definitely better than your average escape room. The puzzles were challenging enough and played with two first timers! Super fun room.

Our fifth room of the day a this room kept us on our toes… the set designs for these rooms are very good…

Loved the room and the puzzles. We all had a blast. Only reason for the Thumb 👍🏽 and not a Heart ❤️ was because we weren’t allowed to take a photo in the room like we did for all 9 other games we played at this company.

Fun experience. Group was split up into two in the beginning. It could have had more puzzles since it didn’t seem like it makes a difference as the story plot line was telling it. Some puzzles were unintuitive especially the last puzzle.

The group started off split up - by the time we joined the rest of the group, it felt like we were playing catch up and missed a number of puzzles. There was also lots of reading.
