“The Taxidermist” within Deep Inside’s “City of Martyrs” is a masterpiece. From beautifully crafted set pieces, to stunning costumes, and an emotionally crafted story, it is easy to see why TERPECA rated this room #12 in the world. We had a really fun time engaging with the puzzles and story of this room, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Paris. I look forward to trying Deep Inside’s other adventures upon return. The room flowed well, had creative, interactive, and straight up fun puzzles to engage with. The staff were absolutely wonderful and did a great job leading us through the experience.

Taxidermist was a beautiful room! From we opened the door, we got dragged into the world that they have made, and after we got to The City of Martyrs, we were already invested. We ended up spending a few hours in this city, and it feels alive, in more ways than one. The Taxidermist starts beautiful great, have good actor interactions, fun puzzles, and a great story. One segment in the game just had me grinning for the whole duration. The attention to detail is superb, and I loved every second of it.

There's a reason this is number 12 in the world for escape rooms. It was exceptional. I have only done 1 room that I enjoyed more than this, and I think that's just a preference. The entire experience is exquisite right from the start. I think the setting and decor were the best I've ever seen.

"Le Taxidermiste" is no ordinary escape room. It is a masterful, 90-minute immersive theatrical experience that unfolds deep underground and left us completely speechless. It all begins innocuously enough on the surface, inside a beautifully designed, nostalgic bookshop. But the façade quickly crumbles. Our mission: to descend 30 meters beneath the cobblestones of Paris into the notorious, gloomy "City of Martyrs." We go undercover as ordinary customers entering the shop of Martin Joly—the infamous taxidermist of the underworld. The goal? To unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of Adèle, the governor's daughter. What sets "Le Taxidermiste" apart so masterfully from other rooms is its focus on storytelling. Deep Inside calls it a "Story Room"—and that hits the nail on the head. Classic mechanisms like number locks give way to clever, organic tasks that blend seamlessly into the taxidermist's macabre reality. The emotional rollercoaster is driven primarily by sensational acting and cinematic lighting and sound effects. Interactions with the characters are intense and intimate, sending shivers down your spine. Tension in the room mounts steadily. The music—composed like that of a Hollywood psychological thriller—relentlessly sends your pulse racing. It is no surprise that "Le Taxidermiste" has swept top honors at the global TERPECA Awards and the Escape Game Awards; it is a true work of immersive art. Anyone traveling to Paris in search of the perfect blend of thrills, cinematic atmosphere, and emotional depth simply must descend into the City of Martyrs.

8/10 Intricate set design and immense world building elements. Just like the taxidermized animals, this room starts full of life but struggles to keep up that intro momentum, devolving into odd story line choices and producing a lackluster ending. This room’s strong suits are its tech, lighting, sound and set design elements. There are moments within this experience that I wasn’t all that sure fit within the game. There seems to be confusion whether or not the game is supposed to be serious and creepy or goofy and funny. All in all, it’s worth playing for the solid intro.

I had a truly extraordinary experience with *The Taxidermist*. The actors are exceptional—you can tell they’re completely immersed in their characters, and it really shows. Every scene is emotionally charged, filled with an energy that pulls you in and keeps you immersed from start to finish. It’s the kind of room where you forget you’re just playing a game because it’s so well done. But what really blew me away were the effects. Wow. We’re talking about a level you don’t expect to see in an escape room—revealing moments, effects that hit at just the right time and leave you speechless. The lighting is particularly impressive: not only does it create an incredible atmosphere, but it’s used to guide the player in a subtle and clever way. You never feel lost, but you also never feel like you’re being led by the hand. It’s really well balanced. What also really impressed me was how perfectly the puzzles fit into the story. Nothing is left to chance; every challenge you solve makes sense within the narrative, and that adds a depth you don’t often find in an escape room. Everything fits together, everything is coherent—you can tell every detail has been carefully thought out. I’ve rarely had such a well-crafted experience. If you’re looking for something that will make you feel real emotions while also giving your brain a workout, Le Taxidermiste is exactly that. I recommend it without hesitation.
