This is only one of two rooms at multiple "The Escape Game (TEG)" locations that we have ever rated less than "Loved It", instead giving this a "Liked It." It was explained to us that Classified is one of TEG's earliest rooms, and it was interesting to see how much they've progressed (especially when comparing it to "Secret Agent"). Overall, it is a good room with a couple of flaws, in our experience. The biggest for us was that there was a lock that was already opened (we assumed should have been the fourth-ish puzzle) that put the overall flow out of whack. We weren't sure which direction we should have been going (solving puzzles that came before this one while also solving puzzles after). A second issue had to do with a piece of equipment that provided an aural "puzzle" but after trying to integrate that aural piece into the game we were eventually told that it had nothing to do with the game and to ignore it. This took a couple of minutes for us to get past. There was also a safe in the room and once we thought we had the solution an employee just showed up in the room (not our Game Master Janus) and said they were an expert in opening the safe, before we even tried putting in the combination. We told them we'd like to try it first and when we told them what we thought the combination was they said the 3rd number was wrong. Shortly afterward, we found the correct third digit of the combination then had no problems opening the safe using the instructions provided. This evolution was a little weird. Finally, there was a piece of equipment that was used multiple times in the game so NO one-and-done with everything. Overall, it was easy to see that Classified wasn't quite up to The Escape Game's current standards one of the top two escape room comapanies we've played, but is still a fun room. If given the choice, Secret Agent is a notably better version of this game, but if you're jonesing for an escape room (we were traveling and have played all of the good ones in our town) Classified is still a good option.

Overall, still a great game from The Escape Game with cool elements. The room definitely isn’t as immersive or as engaging as other rooms I’ve done with The Escape Game company. Good puzzles, good fun, just not as cool as what I know they’re capable of.

One of TEG’s oldest rooms, only available at their Austin location I believe. I’d skip it, play Special Ops instead, a better version of this game. Some puzzles didn’t make sense. If you’re here, play anything else. We played cause it’s only available here.

If you have the opportunity to do Special Ops: Mysterious Market, and only want to do one of these two thematically-related rooms, do Special Ops instead (it’s the newer, more technologically advanced version). But if you only have the opportunity to do Classified, or want to do both (they’re similar, but different enough that you can have fun doing both), Classified is a fun room as well.

Crazy attention to detail, linear puzzles and thinking, overall good experience. A couple technical difficulties toward the end and a couple places that needed a little TLC. Other than that, great company, always enjoy coming back!

This game was just ok for me. 2 broken props but they were nice about it. It was not my fav game but was ok

I was told that this was a sort of prequel to The Escape Game's other room Special Ops. I'm not sure the stories quite match up after having done this one, but maybe this was more like a beta version rather than a full on prequel. This one feels a bit older than Special Ops, and I definitely think Special Ops is the superior room, but this is still a solid room overall.

One of my top 5 rooms at the moment! Good puzzles, linear problem solving, and nice atmosphere. I want to try the other rooms here.

We actually came to play another room but found out they had booked it with an additional 6 strangers. I was caught off guard as I’d never done a community room before. But the staff were very nice and let us switch to a different time/room and luckily no one else booked so we got to do it by ourselves. Really good room. At first I thought it was going to be too easy but I was surprised at the complexity of the puzzles after the halfway mark of the game. We spent too much time in the first section and ran out of time with two puzzles left.

This is an older escape game design, but that didn’t stop it from being a lot of fun! I accidentally found that I had joined a family celebrating a birthday; but they were thrilled after they found out I have escape room experience. We had a great time with this one, and aside from a couple of things feeling a bit too complicated I loved this game! Just know that things may be used more than once in this game (not keys, another prop)!

“Felt disconnected. The second half of the game lacked everything that made the first half special. “
