Motoshige, a swordsmith of unparalleled fame, moved to the Mino region and discovered there the perfect soil for tempering, high-quality pine charcoal, pure water, and all the ideal ingredients for crafting Japanese swords. In Seki, he crafted his finest dagger, a tanto he called the Komorebi. This dagger remained missing until 2015, when it was confiscated by an art smuggler and resold at auction to Italian collector Massimo Belcastro, who currently keeps it on display in the private museum on his estate in Tuscany. Heiress Yoshiko Kobayashi contacted you because you are among the best specialists in commissioned art theft and asked you to steal the dagger. According to the family biography, the Kobayashis are directly descended from Motoshige, and Yoshiko claims ownership of all his artifacts, including the priceless Komorebi dagger.
