You and your friends, resting on a beautiful island in the Caribbean, accidentally discover a cave.
301 escape rooms
Awful. Just terrible. From the ability to hear our game masters talking about who knows what within all areas of our room, to tech very clearly not working unless we asked for a hint (at which point we were asked 1) questions that could be answered if the person running our game was paying an ounce of attention, and 2) were told to continue doing what we were doing again so they could very clearly hit an override of sorts to allow us to progress), our experience at Break Out was a major let down. We will not be returning, nor would I recommend anyone spend any money at this establishment. And that’s not to mention the absolute waste of space that “Day of the Dead” is. Broken puzzles, set pieces PHYSICALLY falling off of the wall due to a lack of upkeep, strange TV windows that were turned off for the entire experience that seemed to have a reason to exist in the game, and a lack of breadcrumbs between puzzles and props. I would say “Play at your own risk,” but I do not wish this experience on anyone.
A total lack of breadcrumbs between puzzles and a confusing set of puzzles make for a bad time regardless of experience.
I can forgive no ceilings. I can forgive walkie talkies for hints. But the both, and the ability to hear our GM talking about who knows what at all times in the lobby was annoying. Add in a bad set, and you get this game.
Rude staff.

I wanted this game to be good, but it was not.
The story on the website is completely different than the verbal brief story I was given in person. The story is confusing.

A poorly aligned laser started our game. You can guess the rest.

Several puzzles were triggered only after we asked for a hint, caught the GM (who was clearly not watching us and asked simple to know questions that could have been answered if they were paying an ounce of attention), and a set piece was physically falling off of the wall it was attached to.
