London Fog: The Mists of Time

I thought this was a great room! I’ve done all 3 stories in the Fogmore saga and have enjoyed them all. This was my favorite of the 3 so far. I loved how many puzzles were crammed into this room and enjoyed that it took up our full time in the room. (We played as a group of 4 with 2 experienced players and 2 people new to escape rooms.) The theme was a creative setting for the continuation of the Fogmore story too. No need to play the rooms in order, it won’t impact your gameplay in the rooms. The intro videos to each room are the only part that ties the 3 stories together. However, if you intend to play all 3 rooms, I’d recommend doing them in order if you can, just to hear the storyline chronologically. But don’t sweat it if you can’t. Due to the room’s challenge level, I’d recommend new players getting some other escape rooms under their belt first, so they can fully enjoy the puzzles in this room, as they are more challenging than average. Overall I was impressed by the unique set pieces incorporated into this room and thought all the puzzles were quite creative. I’d recommend it!

This room was wonderfully decorated and high tech which was awesome. Unfortunately, we for sure should have listened to the website and brought more than two people. Although the puzzles are not super hard they can be tedious and some require two people. The amount of puzzles in the room make the task quite hard for only two. Overall we had a great time with just the two of us can can’t wait to come back.

As always, some of the most innovative puzzles and decor, this room was considerably smoother than fogmore was for us, and the comm system is so much fun. This is definitely a room I would do with people you communicate with very well, and who have a good amount of puzzle experience. My group has done 30-40, and we communicate very well, and we escaped with 3 minutes to spare

Great room, unexpectedly fantastic puzzles. We've admittedly not done the other rooms in this room that apparently follow the story, so there may have been some thing that led up to that. Space seems surpsingly small but opens up into a fair amount of space. Well decorated, and a pretty good atmosphere for the story. There's a good amount of the environment that's built into several of the puzzles, even despite some of it not appearing to be. Takes some investigation for bits and pieces of the room. Great use of puzzles as well. There's only one lock in the entire room and that's for a door. The rest of the puzzles are a part of the room. A few puzzles are moderately challenging, but for the most part its a solidly well leveled room in terms of difficulty.

Like a certain favorite time-traveling UK box, this room was much more fun and bigger than I expected. Fun puzzles of varying difficulty with a great set. I loved the story and the sound of an old school ringing telly. (Rotary phones, you were lovely.) The room is mostly nonlinear with quite a bit to do, so I recommend a team of 4 or 3 very industrious solvers. Allonsy!

A lot of content to read, no clear order in which to do things so you end up trying to solve puzzles you can’t actually solve for yet. I enjoyed some puzzles but still left feeling perplexed as to how some puzzles connected to the story.

No fog. Puzzles were necessarily difficult but there was no clear order in which to solve things. Most puzzles required other puzzles to be completed before moving on. If there was an order in which to solve things it would make things a lot easier

Extremely frustrating. Some puzzles didn’t work and we had a lot of issues where we did it right and then it didn’t work, so the game-master said “consider it done” and move on… and we were not able to finish the game and complete, but they said we “technically” completed it because things didn’t work. It took away a lot of the fun and satisfaction. It’s a bummer because all of the other rooms here have been great. We had extremely high expectations for this one.

I feel this room has A LOT of potential, its a really great room. The immersion was there, as well as the decor really fit the theme and was great. What wasnt so great was the way the game is played. Every puzzle is VERY TIME CONSUMING. Which could be fine, but theres also a constant side task that has to be completed to gain information to complete your main tasks that again is very time consuming. There is a lot of time wasted trying to gain information for puzzles that as well take a long time to try to complete. Granted the room does strongly recommend playing with a large group, because there is a lot to complete in this room, but regardless everything just seems to take a long time. Again these are very story strong rooms, you can tell how much effort the owner puts into the story telling and making sure the room feels like youre a part of the story line he’s telling, so if your doing a room to feel your in a movie or in a story book, this room will feel so fun. If your doing a room to complete puzzles and unfold the story as you go, you might get a little frustrated.

The room itself was AMAZING, some incredible mechanics and just really well done in general in terms of props, decor, etc. Our game host was not the most enthusiastic and tended to interject to tell us when we were doing something wrong, so make sure to mention something if you have an issue with that.
