A MILLION WAYS IN, ONE WAY OUT The year is 1955. You’ve been wrongfully accused of a crime, and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Your new “home” is a cell that once belonged to an inmate who disappeared without a trace…or did he? Some claim he escaped. Others swear he was murdered by the infamously cruel warden. But no one actually knows… can you escape before you suffer the same fate?

We had so much fun at this room! Most of the puzzles were fairly straightforward, and at the start of the game the group is split up into two cells, which is always a fun test of communication skills. Overall gameplay had a lot of fun elements, and the set design was interesting.

Enjoyed all the games at the escape games. Prison break was my favorite

This one wasn’t much more challenging than the Escape Game’s other rooms… Playground for us was MORE challenging. We think we could have done this with just three people but played with three strangers who had never done an escape room

We were a group of 2 and finished in 55 minutes, but we did get about 5 hints. This was really fun and challenging, but I wouldn't say that this is any more challenging than their other rooms like Gold Rush and Special Ops. Everyone says that this is the hardest, but I don't think the puzzles were that much more challenging the the ones in their other rooms. I think most people get stuck and lose a lot of time in the first part where the players are split up and need to communicate with one another across the two cells to advance, so having good communication and being familiar with the other people you are playing the room with really helps. Overall, I thought it was fun to be split up from my partner. If there were more people, the first part would've been harder and more unorganized. As with the other rooms from the company, the experience was immersive, and I thought the storyline was cohesive.

A very well designed escape room. I want to say that the difficulty level is high for those new to escape rooms or for enthusiasts. That being said it was a lot of fun. We ended up having to use a few more hints than we would have liked but ultimately got through and it had a statisfying ending. Love that it's a split start which makes it just a bit more challenging and forces good communication between groups. Know that this is not a private room but don't let that deter you from this entertaining room. My family was a group of 4 and a nice young couple joined us for this game. All 6 of us contributed in completing the escape and had a blast!

I completed this room with three people, and I would not have wanted more. The room was a blast. The set itself was a lot of fun and made use of the jail setting for more than just decoration.

This was a fun game but I felt like I missed out on some of the experience doing this with just a two person group. I would highly recommend this game but definitely for bigger groups! If you have a small group, check out a different room at The Escape Game like Gold Rush.
This game didn’t flow super smoothly but I think a big part of that was the fact that we did this room with just two people. You should definitely do this room with more than two people.
Very immersive for the most part! There was one part that took me out of it but no spoilers here.
Game master was nice and very helpful.

The concept of prison break is relatively common but the execution of this game is better than others.
The story for this prison break was a little more specific than other prison break rooms I’ve done. I really enjoyed the novelty!
Hard
Very challenging for two people, would be more manageable with a larger group.
High tech
There was a combination of physical locks and technical elements.

I would recommend this experience for 6-8 people. The game begins with the team split in two so 3-4 per room would be really manageable. After the split entry, more than 8 players may be overwhelming.

Ages 12+ for difficulty, not content.
Yes
Elements weren’t necessarily broken but they were worn down so much that they were unreadable. Some clues definitely needed a replacement.

There were a couple stairs and a small crawling portion. Not super physical though.
Could be manageable with teammates but might be too overwhelming. This room has a lot going on and some small spaces.
Yes
Large entry on the first floor, easily visible from the street in NYC.

In the city.

Really loved this room. Such a cool concept, the immersion is great, the puzzles are great, and it gives you an experience you won’t get at a lot of escape room places.

It was fun but they allow other people in the same game other than your party.
Not the best with a the design of the clues
4
Be careful because they allow other random people in on the same reservation.

This is the best implementation of a Prison Break style room I’ve seen. Like every The Escape Game room, the theming, narrative and puzzle design is absolutely top notch. It can reasonably be beaten by two people as long as you are comfortable yelling to communicate.

“"Prison Break" was the complete package of what an immersive escape room should be.“
