The Deadly Inheritance

Curse you, Covid!! You took away the best escape room in Missouri! I can only imagine what the owner would have concocted if he had been able to continue. The lobby is adorable and is an enthusiast's dream! You almost feel that this is a room in itself and want to know where to start. The owner, a true charmer, introduced us to the room and acted as our GM. I loved him and he was amazing! The room itself was stunning and there was so much to see and take in before the game even began. It came across as very old school but was then blown away when we reached part two of the adventure. Wow! Just wow! The second half of the room was absolutely gorgeous! Puzzles were top notch and there was so much to do I was glad that be brought a team of four to tackle the room. This was hands down my favorite room in the area and I will always remember the great time we had playing!

This is one of those rooms that sticks with me for a lot of reasons. The first is probably the impression upon entering the space. It’s the perfect spot for a steam punk themed tea party or a small birthday gathering of puzzle fiends. I loved the style and design of the waiting area. The second is definitely our game master who is also the owner. He was pretty concerned that we were attempting this room as a pair and certain we wouldn’t even begin to finish. Somehow (with his help) we did. It also didn’t hurt that he was very funny in providing hints and afterward stroked my ego a lot—claiming I was impressive at completing puzzles and told us he never thought a group of two would be successful. The game itself was a lot of fun. Just LOADS of puzzles to complete and an overwhelming amount of visual information. It would absolutely be better done with a group of 4 people. Perhaps more… It is a pretty “old school” kind of room without high tech interventions. But very tactile and hands on.
