93 escape rooms
A fun, fairy-tale themed room. The gameplay was linear, and most of the puzzles were straightforward. The room is put together very well to match the Once Upon a Time theme. The game master was enthusiastic and helpful, introducing herself as our third player. With almost 100 rooms complete, this room was on the easier side but we got ourselves into a couple of death spirals that required a little nudge, and the game master did just that. It seems like it would be a good novice room. The fairy-tale theme is pervasive throughout the room making it an immersive experience.
Gameplay
The linear gameplay flowed well. For the most part we knew what the next step was supposed to be, and as we explored we found out the means to get there.
Atmosphere
Very immersive, as each part of the room was unique to a fairy-tale theme.
Customer service
Delaney was outstanding. She introduced herself as our third teammate and was helpful during the room. After escaping, she offered us a deal on a second room (which we were already considering), but her enthusiasm pushed us over the top.
Particularly interesting or different
No
Similar to other fairy-tale themed rooms. However, this one was still very well done with some unique fairy-tale aspects.
Story
Every part of the gameplay fit the story and the defined objective(s).
Difficulty
Easy
Game tech
Mechanical
Relatively speaking, it was mostly mechanical. However, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes tech that made the room work. And it was all done well.
Ideal number of players
3
We played with two experienced players and made it out with 12+ minutes to spare. However, there is an ok amount going on so a third brain might have helped us see the solution to the couple of puzzles we asked for a clue with. A larger group of beginners would work, and there is a variety of puzzle types to initiate new players. Experienced players can easily get by with two players.
Scary
Not scary
Minimum age
8
Eight, based on an innocent fairy tale theme, but some of the puzzles would be a challenge for younger players to solve or add assistance.
Was anything broken?
No
The room is a little "well-loved" but everything worked as advertised. With so much behind the scenes tech that is impressive.
Live actors
No
Physically active
Somewhat
The space is large and gets larger. However, although it is linear in puzzle solving, it isn't linear in space usage, and we did a fair amount of moving around, climbing, and descending. This added to the enjoyment.
Accessibility
Accessible for the most part but there is an area with stairs and a means to descend. However, once there a means also exists to access the area from a "backdoor" wider entrance. Parts of the space are a little dark, and one room is slightly limited in mobility.
Easy to find location
Yes
Parking
Easy
A good-sized free parking lot out front.
